I just wish all the once a season fans could make an effort to make it 2 games a season ,
Most would admit it was a great atmosphere sat against the swans,
but it was simply because you fans made an effort to go to the game .
We could have this atmosphere every home game but what a shame we will drop back down to 18,000 at best .
The new striker salech
will be well confussed ,
I will make the journey sat on my own drive down and will get back home 8.30ish but i want to see the new striker get more game time and also not to make him feel dissapointed with the attendance,
i want him to think f.ck me this is a great club, atmosphere, and great fan base so i' ll be there sat.
Hope others feel the same.

Just annoying when you hear fans saying there is no atmosphere in the stadium soulless etc,
the place was rocking sat so why not again this saturday ?
If you loved the atmosphere lets all do it again plus the team need that sort of support to drive them on.
I am sure when the team came out saturday they where buzzing infront of all us fans there
But the game days before with all the empty seats does not get the players buzzing when entering the stadium ,
it must be very deflating when it looks so empty and i am sure that reflects on the play when i played years ago bimbung down the wing,
hearing a good crowd roaring you on gave you that bit extra driving you on.

Great post Monty

Spot on Monty.
I get there not being as big a crowd as there was from Swansea because obviously that was derby game and there was the march.
But there's been a lot of positivity lately with Saturday's result, the late equaliser last night etc.
So there should be a bigger home crowd than usual.

Technically it's another Derby match (boom boom!).
In reality though, I don't expect any more than around 19k tops.
It's also something of a catch 22 as we've had several seasons of mediocrity/ relegation struggles - combine that with a very fickle fan base and we don't attract the crowds the players need.
Would love to see 25k and the players would get a lift no doubt.

I’m guessing it’ll break the 20k mark on the assumption Derby bring a big crowd. Looks to be 5k-6k tickets left in the home stands.
Looking at the teams playing this weekend we will probably end up with the 6th or 7th largest crowd of the 12 games being played.

Always going to get a bigger crowd for your local rivals. Back in good form again so hopefully a thousand or so decide to return more regularly.

Watching pompey tonight nearly 21,000 week night with not much away fans. We cannot get that many on a Saturday
Thu Jan 23, 2025 12:10 am
We should be but we not story of a city fans life we’ve all been through the rough and smothe as 1 we have lost thousands of loyal fans who love the club but couldn’t face the changes that we have had rebrand change colour etc .early Saturday kick offs bad adviertisment poor stadium management easy tv access, squads getting no upgrades managers coming going etc. these obstacles are in our way before we leave for the games on weekends we will get new owners we just need to all get down there support the team in numbers the rest then will fix it’s self

They literally got promoted last season so season tickets would've hit the roof. I think we're being too harsh on ourselves. We've had a shit few years.

The atmospehere at the ground is awful, first half agasint swansea is was rubbish for a debry. Second half when we scored it was great!
we are near the relegation zone and the atmospehere should be like that for all remianing games! we are the 12th man! if we can't be bothered, why should the team????? You try and start singing in the grandstant and they look at you alien!!!
I only go down with my boy to make him happy, if he didn't want to know i'd sack it all off! awful atospwhere these days - it's embarrasing

If you want to chant I'd probably start by moving from the Grandstand
Performances on the pitch and atmosphere in the stands go hand in hand. The Jacks were quiet for the entire 90. Why? Because they were shit.
Ninian Park is long gone but Saturday felt like the old days to me.

100 percent agree I miss Ninian Park but that win against the scum reminded me of the potential we have , just need good ownership

Ive kept saying it over the years - our fans moan about the drab atmosphere. Well I say get your behind on a seat and do some cheering so an atmosphere is created
Last Saturday prooved my point
Fri Jan 24, 2025 12:45 pm
I'll be there Saturday and your right a big crowd does make a difference. There is an atmosphere when we have 24 25 thousand but a good away crowd is essential as well. Saying that how often when people do turn up have the team put in a crap performance we should beat Derby but we said that about QPR and Preston

Agree.
People's memories about Ninian Park are selective too. Obviously there were occasions when the atmosphere was unbelievable.
But equally, there were times it was extremely flat in there. Just as much as it has been at times at CCS.
It's normal for fans to keep hold of great memories from the old stadium, because of the nostalgia.
But I am still of the opinion that for the club to grow and progress, we had to build the new stadium.

I doubt the attendance will matter too much for Salech.
He’s come from a team who average just over 4000.
