" One substitution changed that match "

Sat Jan 25, 2025 5:09 pm

Let's all be honest, the first half was dreadful and we were lucky to still be level.

But early in the second half, El Ghazi came on for Willock and it changed the whole match.

El Ghazi got his goal but also constantly put pressure on their players.

Not everything he did came off but he changed the game in my view.

This is a massive win by the way, takes the pressure off at Leeds.

Totally agree. I will confess I had written him off but today he showed some of the class and why he has been at the top level. Great goal from him and always direct.

Our recent form is down to 5 things IMHO:-
1. Chambers is like a new signing as a DM. He is now massively contributing rather than his defensive mistakes costing us goals.
2. Ashford has become a good Championship attacking force.
3. Al Ghazi is starting to look like a class player again.
4. Salech has been signed and we have a CF that can stick the ball in the net
5. Callum Robinson has got his confidence back and is becoming prolific.

Great win today!!

Yea done well against millwall too made big deference in both results he looks like he’s a lot quicker and sharper than ever perhaps he’s being carrying injury or something has clicked with him

Yes he made an immediate impact. CreAtive technically good and quite quick. You could see he was a decent player just needing to get fitness sharpness. What I also liked was when he couldnt quite get a pass to Ng who was ahead of him, he chased back cos Ng was out of position. We need that committment to close down and defend from the front. Big difference when you see him and Salech do this. Much better.

You are spot on. Robinson is so so important to us.

You missed one major point. Colwill being dropped has helped immensely. A loan out to league one would do him no harm. That’s his level I would say. He’s had more than enough chances now.

Al Ghazi's last two sub appearances were what i thought we were getting.

On the other hand, Willock looks lost. He isn't a wide-attacking midfielder and doesn't offer enough centrally.

If we could get two wide players in i'd let him find a loan if he could as he doesn't look like he is enjoying it here.

I was surprised he didn’t start.
Good battle for 3 valuable points :bluescarf:

Disagree colwill in my eyes is a good player many times he has won games for us there still room in this team for him he can win any game play him in is right position

Maybe we not talking about the same player.
