Cardiff in talks to get him on loan till the end of the season.
Lots of rumours that we are about to sign Sivert Mannsverk, a midfielder on loan from Ajax.

Comes from very reputable sources, just having a quick look.
22 years old and has played 15 games for the Ajax first team.
Valued at around €5m so is highly rated.

Midfield getting a bit over staffed isn’t it? Unless, I assume we’re offloading someone.

He's more of a defensive midfielder so I assume he's being brought in to play alongside Chambers.
Ralls can't play every game anymore.

Done a bit of research and this is a coup for us.
He is extremely highly rated.
He had a long term injury but is back now. Ajax want him to go out on loan somewhere he will play regularly.
Because they see him as being part of their first team next season.

Another defensive midfield player ?

We only have one in Chambers. I don't think we have a fully destructive player who can play a bit other than him.
Ralls is still an all-rounder whose legs can not do back-to-back 90 mins, Sio and Robertson are just not big enough, be interesting what happens when Turnbull comes back but i see him ahead of the DM's so it does make sense to me.
Gunnar was our last genuine destructor.

You say another but everyone has been complaining about our defensive midfielders until Chambers came in.
We need someone to play with him.
This is a brilliant signing.

Yes, Rallsy is coming to the end of his playing days and is a battler, as he has carried a hip injury for the last few seasons, but I thought we’ve been playing him further forward now Chambers is the cdm.

This will be a brilliant signing if true.
Him and Chambers as CDM.
Ralls to come in if needed.
Sio maybe on way out?
Sat Jan 25, 2025 7:43 pm
Hope he can fit in well. We need another solid 6-type player here.
Siopis, Ralls, Robertson, Turnbull are more 8’s.
Sat Jan 25, 2025 7:44 pm
Sounds a solid signing just some pace now please
Outside or three the middle not bothered which really need it

He played together with Daland in the same Norwegian under 21 side.

Better than we have ? Would be my guess. And it's not to lost on me that this guy's type is similar to Ebou Adams who played a blinder against us today.

Adams is a very good fast energetic player the type which we could do with at cardiff

The madness of Cardiff City. We recruited Rinomhota and Adams then decided we were going to be a Swansea tribute band and own the ball, out-pass team, ripping them a new arse through our skill.
Our front 4 are so under powered we made Adams looks like Rodri

Hopefully, the new man won’t p155 the management off like Adam’s did…!

Siopsis is not an 8.

I think we need an athletic holding midfielder that can pass. Chambers has been a revelation but he’s played a lot and is going to need to be rotated. I’d worry if he for injured. Ralls or Sio holding doesn’t work. Against the top teams away from home, two holding might make sense.

) YouTube highlight reel, in this case a couple years out of date. I noted he can take penalties.
FWIW, this guy also made a highlight reel for Robertson recently which I enjoyed watching:

He does like his sliding tackles. Love the determination he shows but he's got to make sure he doesn't get on the wrong side of the refs.

With the right coaching I think he can do better there. Rather him run with the ball than sit and dictate.

He is made for what Makelele or Rodri do/did. Disrupt play, get the ball and pass it to a better player who can do the passing. 8 is the player who receives the ball and moves it about. He is not that player. His passing is not good enough from what I have seen anyway.

I think we have gone back to a simplistic almost old school midfield combination. Chambers and Ralls is quite a throwback to bygone eras. No double pivot, deep-lying playmakers or "6"'s. 2 CM's playing as a pair, moving up and down the pitch.
I also believe moving Robertson higher stops their deeper players from having the time on the ball making the game more scrappy and suits Chambers and Ralls who like a bit of contact

After he is an put and put number 6 defensive mod only....a number 8 would actually score and assist too

Rodri is one of the best passers of the ball I’ve seen.
A real 6 needs to be able to pass and dictate the midfield with good vision. Passing range is also arguably greater.
You are right with Siopis, I don’t think he’s a fit for either 8 or 6 right now, but if I had to try and push him towards one position and create a new player in him, would be 8. But this would be a system of one 6 and two 8’s. And would be a bench player for me.

Yeah this works well for us, don’t think anyone in the team could handle the solo 6 role, so the double pivot we are seeing works for their skills.
I’d like to see three pacey players in front of the two in future if we stick to the 2 CMs, along with a typical 9.

My Ajax friend telling me last season there was a huge scandal where the manager only bought players part of his agency. They were all shit apparently, but he says the guy we're linked with was the only one with promise
