Well done Merthyr, The Welsh League is way way beneath Our 5th league.

Merthyr are flying. Really hope they carry on as they are. Good club. They are in the best place.

This is great news, so glad to hear it.

I’m glad they refused as it didn’t go well for Bangor, Rhyl, and now Colwyn bay. The FAW have screwed themselves now though offering 6mill as there is obviously money to put into the league, or even to help teams in the welsh system.

Bad few days for the FAW... that's 2 projects scrapped! Back to the drawing board!!

If I was the Welsh League clubs I would petition the FAW to merge their leagues back into the English League system.
Pretty sure that would annoy many but I think they would get better crowds playing cross border.
Without a Welsh National League, (and here is why I suggest it

) the English FA may be more open to the EFL clubs removing themselves from the League Cup and allow the Welsh Cup to return with European Qualification to the UEFA Conference.

This is not such a bad idea - See Link:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_association_football_clubs_playing_in_the_league_of_another_countryThere is precedent.
There is no Leichtenstein League. FC Vaduz, and other teams play in Swiss League, however they qualify for Europe by winning the Leichtenstein Cup.
So if there was no Welsh League - just a Welsh Cup - our situation is the same as theirs

I read years ago that the FAW's biggest supporters were the FA as I don't think we have ever voted at conferences differently from them. The status quo suits them, as the UK (England) has 4 votes and is the biggest driver in not having a UK or GB team.
So i think this may just drift away

That is actually a very good suggestion, the league cup is dead anyway & just a nuisance fixture.
