Anyone else attempting to keep up with it all tonight?

I wasn't sure when they announced the new format for the group phase.

But fair play, it really works and makes for a really entertaining final matchday.

It does keep the interest going but in reality only couple games were decisive man c are 3-1 now so all British are through to playoffs or qualified at moment.... think only two big teams going out possibly.

Much better than the previous format when most games in the last two rounds of the group stage meant nothing.

Yes, either will be tough for them. Brugge has a few chances to go 2-0 up tonight, don't think City would have come back from that and they'd be knocked out.

They'd probably prefer Bayern because Real Madrid have a habit of becoming unbeatable in the Champions League knockout rounds.

Before the tournament, not many would have had Villa in the top eight and Manchester City out of it....

I'm never for change, really - but this format has made it feel more exciting to me!

I'd still prefer the old straight knockout from round1, but this feels better than the previous group stages.

Last night was wild!!

The whole tournament annoys me as it is called the Champions league but you can finish 4th and still be in it.

Possibly even finish 5th and be in it next season

Agree the name isn't accurate, should have just kept it as the European Cup.
