Really good football business

Fri Jan 31, 2025 6:10 pm

Some may see this as controversial but I think our dealings this month are very good and great decisions have been made.

Three new players with Salech, Mannsverk and Alves.

New contracts for Robinson, O'Dowda and Alnwick (Alnwick's was forced due to his appearances triggering an extension to his contract).

Etete given a new contract and a loan. Gives him a chance to play regularly and means we don't lose him for nothing in the summer.

Joel Colwill. Some have tried to convince themselves that he'd play ahead of other members of the squad but he just wouldn't. Having half a season with Exeter in League One will really show us how good he is.

Reindorf also getting a good loan.

Siopis wanted to leave and he has done for a small fee.

Would have liked to have seen a new LB but otherwise, some very sensible decisions have been made.

I criticise them when they get it wrong so I think it's only right to praise them when they get it right.

Excellent

Don’t want to jump the gun / count my chickens too soon BUT
ITS LOOKING LIKE AN EXCELLENT TRANSFER WINDOW. When could I last have said that. :bluebird: :bluebird:

Two young and very promising players signed. Salechi and Mannveik
Several contracts resolved (o Dowda Alnwick and Robinson). Very wisely keeping our options open with Etete.
Looking likely to have an injection of pace / wingers one or 2 eg Lanksheet and Alves. (Fingers crossed)
Nice to feel positive and say well done City!

Agree with every word of this.
