On the bench for the second game in a row for Exeter.
Sort of proving those of us right who said he was better having a League One loan than coming straight back into our first team.
League One is a big step up from League Two and obviously the Championship is an even bigger jump.
He wouldn't start ahead of Robertson, Chambers, Mannsverk, Ralls etc this season anyway.

We should have had some type of agreement of him playing a certain amount of minutes.
It’s pointless him being sat on the bench.

Spot on.
Clubs do this to us.

Good post and was definitely the right decision to keep him out on loan and not recall him.
Great decision to upgrade him to League One also in my opinion.

Before Joel went to League 2 , everyone had very very high hopes for him.
Surround a player like him with better quality and you would have seen him only get better.
I still believe he can make it.
But if he does not , that’s once again about the 100th player we’ve sent out to lower leagues and failed.

I was in the camp to stay at Cheltenham. He was flourishing and a potential to get 20 goals/assists....he has time to get in Exeter team so let's hope he shows when he comes on what he can do.
He needs to get in Exeter team and do well do be considered in championship for us next season. Yes I truly believe we are staying up....today we may lose but it's not going to define our season

7 games for Exeter at the time of writing. Mixture of starts and sub appearances. No goals, no assits. Averaging 6.2 with one stand out 8.1 performance.

Doing ok according to my Exeter City mate ,plenty of energy and always wants the ball that was his opinion

Been starting games which is a good sign.
The fact that he hasn't set the league alight yet proves those of us right who said half a season in League One would do him good before he re-joined us.
Some were desperate for him to come straight back but he simply wouldn't get in the team yet - he has the potential though so can in the future.

Agree on this and I’ve also maintained it would be pointless to have kept him.
He would hardly have played here and it’s so much better for him to play regularly in a proper ‘men’s’ league.
I’ve hardly seen him play but if the potential is there like many are saying - and I hope it is then let’s just be patient and give hm time to develop.

Eli King performing better than Colwill at that level…
