" A dismal afternoon "

Sat Feb 01, 2025 4:54 pm

Expected us to be beat comfortably today and we were.

But very disappointing how easy we made it for them and we just collapsed in the second half.

Hope this ends the myth that Alnwick is a top goalkeeper.

Chambers has been brilliant but he really couldn't keep up with the game today.

Defence were all over the place.

Dismal afternoon and feel sorry for the fans who travelled.

Need to pick ourselves up for Stoke.

We were on a good run before today and we'll need to pick up results again in the league games coming up.

How the hell can you single out Alnwick… try blaming the 10 players in front of him!!!

Give me Etheridge who could barely kick the ball let alone trap and play it then we'd only lose by the four!

Some of the subs were baffling

I was still editing my post but stand by comment about Alnwick.

He can't kick the ball or save any shots that aren't straight at him.

They are outstanding team but that's a Shameful capitulation and hugely damaging to our goal difference. Riza got it horribly wrong in the set up. Just should have played 5 at the back from the start. Must move on quickly

Alnwick isn't a top keeper
Too small and not dominant fact

We tried to go toe to toe with them and lost 7-0. Niave is an understatement

Disgusting performance
Yeah lets move on, but those players, moved on before a ball was kicked today
Refund the fans

Yes whole team poor in general but in reality could blame 4 goals on him just because others are poor he as job ho do aswe and today was crap at it...... he doesn't know how to catch ball when he saves it and puts defenders under pressure with his lethargic passing out ..

Richard Shaw and Darren Purse need a f*cking bollocking after that.

As do every player on the pitch.

Disgusting result. That's a 4 point loss with that impact to goal difference, in our position.

Riza, be a leader. Sort it out!

Sorry can’t blame goalkeeper we Are nowhere near the team Leeds are and it showed they have pace all over the team this is a must you need pace and that is 1 thing we haven’t got unfortunately they rung rings around us we couldn’t get anywhere near them that’s why they are top never mind get it from our system and long week off Fa cup next week then the business starts again

Watch the game again and see how many saves he made and has done all season

He’s a very decent keeper…Fcuk all he could do today!!

Yeah, saves which are straight at him.

Leeds xG today was 5.04. So he let in around two more than he should have.

He's an average goalkeeper. The stats back that up.

I am not blaming the keeper, but he wouldn't start at any other championship team. Our inability to hold onto the ball in attack was the reason we lost by so many. They were useless but Roxa waited to 55 mins to change it and Robinson stayed on in case we needed a pointer.

We were 12/1 for a reason, but we were naive

A hugely shit performance and result, :banghead: But we got a week til Stoke and players will be rested before a big game against Portsmouth.
The Bluesare staying up :bluescarf:

Leeds played at a pace that was totally alien to us. We just couldn’t handle their movement and quick passing game. Without Alnwick it would have been 10 conceded.

Re: " A dismal afternoon "

Well today was back down to earth with a bang and also shows how far we are away from where we really need to be if we are realistic about being back in the PL.

I hope the team reacts to this ahead of the wurzles game as they are going to fancy their chances only being a couple of points off playoffs.

Out GD is now battered, 2nd worst and it may well be vital as make no mistake, we are still very much in a tight relation mini league.
