" The good news "

Sat Feb 01, 2025 5:10 pm

Can't excuse that performance today but thankfully that's the hardest game of the season out the way.

There is also more good news.

None of Portsmouth, Hull, Derby or Luton won.

Plymouth and Stoke did win. Stoke go one point ahead of us.

But we're 19th and still four points clear of the bottom three.

So thankfully, no significant damage done to the table apart from our goal difference.

I know it's not much, but had to find something positive

Fair points Worcester but this is chastening all the same.

You just have to hope this battering doesn't lead to a collapse in confidence and another downward spiral - that's my concern.

I am slightly clutching at straws with that post I'll admit.

We can't afford another run of games without a win for sure.

Hopefully this will be another kick up the arse for the players

The top 3/4 teams are a mile better than the rest

Luckily there are a load of teams around us who we can take points off..we just need to reset and go again

Bad days happen now and again but atrocious days are very rare so let’s hope that’s out of the way.Pksyers will be rested for stoke to give youngsters and newbie’s a chance so we should be fit and raring to go at Portsmouth.

They were different class. The pace difference was frightening. Bristol will be a totally different game and one we can win.

Ned,

You really are clutching at straws

Today was beyond beyond a New Low

A new low is being kind.

Excluding Goutas I would drop the rest of them for the next match and make them share the embarrassment with us fans.

Leeds fans praising us for not parking bus like Burnley did... yes was niave but won't come up against such a fast attacking team again this season..shame about goal difference but plenty games to get over this result.... the results today must have given players a boost as they're in same place as start of day... soxall to play for next league game

Good to see someone being positive. This tells Vincent Tan that if you want a great football team lots of things must be sorted out. It's not just about money. Some say an experienced Director of Football would help?

Probably would have even if we won as it’s a cup fixture :laughing6:

Yeah did not realise it would be a cup game. Yes I'm all for it now.

Well done for a positive post. We are 4 points above the relegation zone still. Yes today was awful and humiliation but also a bit freakish too. Personally felt worse after Oxford. Think people need to keep their heads.

1,000 percent absolutly appauling performance just goes to show how far we have fallen we where always there bogey team .
but f.ck me i cannot remember how depressed i was after 90 mins of football and we are having a good transfer window apprently so i am told.

We will start the rebuild all over again when the season ends and we loose our best,
and start all over again,
no point in doing anything in this transfer window so i am told.?

Well we are doing something monty sorry if it doesn't meet to your expectations but it's the January transfer window not the summer you tell me how do you change a squad in january that as its full compliment of 25 players?
Your angry but that's no reason to be sarky about neds viewpoint either! We like all clubs are limited in out abilities to change squad and you know it....we'll rebuild like most clubs do in summer that's football because contracts end usually with 6+ at every club..
I know one clubs fans who should be more worried than city fans that's for sure

You improve by changing some of the 25 players you have into 25 better players by hook and crook .

So simple to do and so little time to do it in? Thought it was real football not fantasy league... not even Pep clopp or josè can make so many average players into better ones in couple of months....
Anyway games gone no amount of debate is going to change scoreline and got two days to get another player or two in then it's upto players and coaches to get us safely away from bottom with what we got and I expect t us to do so.... and the other good new is? Another team better than us with a better manager lost 7 nil
...and another team lost again and I would be more worried if I was their fans than I am of our teams chances of relegation... finally
was watching Bob marley tonight and as he says don't worry be happy Everything's going to be alright....

We've got enough in the tank to stay up this year I think and that if course is the shirt term focus.

But today shows that in the more important bigger picture of achieving sustainable PL status, we are a million miles away from where we need to be, from top to bottom. I looked at the team sheet today and bench and thought we could possibly get something out of it whilst we are in form but I would not have predicted a 7-0 pumping for sure, so what do I know.

So back to the short term, I think today's massacre will get a reaction from the team against the wurzles or at least I hope so, as they will fancy their chances at ours as they are only a few points off playoffs.

At least most of the results went out way today but TBH, it really shouldn't be like this where we are looking up and around us again for yet another season.

To be honest Monty, even if we survive this season, which I think we will do but by the skin of our teeth again, I am already concerned about next season and every season after that unless there is significant change from top to bottom. This is why it's so important to protest as it's the only currency we have as fans that the board will recognise.

This why i wanted to get more transfers through the window
I have been told january is not a time for building we just bring in loans? I thought we bought our striker this window ?
We cannot change the squad due to our limit of 25 ?we ship out the worse of our 25 with better over time ? why wait till January to start rebuild?
Karlan grant has put in a transfer request go and buy him.

Given our position i was exspecting at least 4 newbies in to date we have 2 and one has just replaced siopis.
I share your thoughts for next season the midfield new loan will go elsewhere goutas i suspect will leave and the rebuild will start all over again on a very low budget.
We all know what we need but until tan either sells or miraculously shows an interest again (sadly not going to happen),
so will see you at the next protest.

Come on monty you know full well you cannot do much other than boost the squad in january you've got 4wks to ship out players and bring in replacements or you suggesting that club have 6 players lined up to bring in and have 6 players lined up to move to other clubs? We bought a striker which us fans craved and two others on loan (maybe others) which is better than some clubs...... do you honestly not understand the january transfer window? Because way you portrait it all the club as to do is ring up club say want Joe bloggs how much thanks we'll buy him....
