A forum for all things Cardiff City

Today was awful, no getting away from that. Shouldn't be getting beat 7-0 by anyone in this league.
But some of the comments I've seen on here are so ridiculous they're bordering on funny.
Even some saying Riza out

We were unbeaten in nine today but none of those people seemed to appear on the forum at all then. Strange??
Almost as if they were waiting for today so they could come on here and complain about it, despite their silence when things were going well.
Because of that unbeaten run, we have a gap above the bottom three.
After the start to the season, the target was staying up - that's it and we're still on course to do that.
So today was an awful day but some of these reactions have been ridiculous.
We need to respond in the cup and the next league game, but we are still in a good position to stay up.
This is my attempt to try and balance things out on here tonight.

100 percent agree.
We were unbeaten in 8 with some excellent performances.
Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:11 pm
100% agree. It was humiliating today and it hurts but the bigger picture is much brighter. We were 8 unbeaten until today, have recruited well in the window and are 4 points above the relegation zone still. All we lost today was goal difference and our pride. Move on and forget. The goal is staying up.
Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:13 pm
It hurts like hell but it won't define our season so onwards we go.
Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:14 pm
Yep agreed, but some can’t help sticking the boot in about Riza’s inexperience. Well there’s only one way to get experience and I’m sure he will have learnt a lot today. Well at least I hope so.
Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:17 pm
B****cks to that.
I say we need to do something drastic after that. Excluding Goutas drop the rest of them from the FA cup game, next game up. Hopefully they will feel embarrassed and that will give them the kick up the back side they richly deserve.

Absolutely agree. Let’s move onto the Pompey game now.
Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:18 pm
Surely not some common sense?
A freak result won’t send us down. We’re the first team to concede 7 this season but Plymouth, Portsmouth, Oxford and Wednesday have all conceded 6. Oxford are 10 points clear of the drop and Wednesday are 2pts off the playoffs.
Derby haven’t lost a game by more than 2 goals all season, yet they’re in the relegation spots and we’re not.
Getting points from teams around us is what keeps us up, we did that throughout January and we need to do it again in February. We play 3 of the 5 teams below us this month. Those are the games that will define our season, not today.
Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:22 pm
At the start of the season the task was top 2 or not play offs we nowhere near good enough and I’ve said straight from watching the game away at Luton this manager is to inexperienced and I stick by it today was total inexperience against a team only lost one at home the way he set us up just like second half against derby showed his inexperience total madness and riza is to blame players tried to carry out his tactics but no chance against this side at Ellen Road they’ve only conceded 3 goals at home selech should of started just to try hold the ball up the defensive midfielder should of played park the bus at least made it difficult they didn’t even break a sweat Leeds embarrassing
Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:26 pm
To say it’s embarrassing is an understatement , but let’s see how we respond not going to be easy at pompey they got a great point today against Burnley.

The breakaway top 4 are in their own mini league and we have been competitive with the rest.
Its going to be interesting when or if Riza puts his big boy pants on in relation to the senior players. At some point, he is going to have to bench one. It's easy to take the kids off but should Robinson have started? He is on fire this season when we play
Derby (H), Swansea (H), Watford (A), Oxford (A), Norwich (H), Pompey (H). Plymouth (H), Hull (A), Swansea (A)
We need more options along the front line.
Hindsight is 20/20 but straight down the gullet with the big lad may have been the tactics

The same inexperienced manager who inherited a team on one point at the bottom of the league but are now 4 points above the relegation zone, the same manager who was on an 8 game unbeaten run, the same manager who smashed the Jacks 3 v 0.

It’s exactly what Steve Borley said, and he was right.

Leeds are now the bar to get in to the Prem and that team would get relegated back to the Championship.
We’re doing the right thing trying to build a young team with potential.
Personally, I would’ve started mega defensively today, by that I mean our set up. Three centre halves, and four genuine midfielders, no Ashford or El Ghazi. Result would still have been a loss.

Another bit of perspective no-one benefitted from the result other than goal difference.... and our friends down m4 still in decline even at home.
Sat Feb 01, 2025 7:07 pm
It’s unbelievable anyone can stick up for Today:
Look at Pompey today v Burnley
Look at Plymouth
Leeds usually only win 1,2 and 3 nil
I don’t see them beating others 5,6,7 Nil ???
Sheffield United were Top 2 weeks ago they beat by a team in bottom 3.
TODAY IS HUMILIATING AND ANYONE WHO SEES DIFFERENTLY NEED TO GET THEIR LOVE IN WITH TAN AND f**k OFF WITH HIM

Who's sticking up for today's performance? Everyone has a different perspective on result yes was humiliation especially for players but its called football and results can go badly ask Brighton fans/players what it's like to lose 7nil? Games gone we lost 7 nil bad result but not end of the world just yet!

It’s more than football Allan,
I take it heart and it should hurt any True Cuty fan
It’s not a bad result , it’s humiliating.
It’s now another horrible part of Our History.

Fully agree let's just forget this and move on. Whilst we were awful I have to say Leeds were superb

Its where we differ Annis don't disagree with you about humiliation but our history is full of equally bad results if not by score? I go mad shouting at tv at the stupid goals we give away but when games finished if at home like now I chill out go in hot tub and have beer or two discuss football in general .... ready for next game

With you Annis.
It’s really sad that our club is in a position where we are losing 7-0 to anyone.
It’s not Riza’s fault though so I’m with Worcester on that.

The perspective is we are miles away from where we want to be there is no excuse for today and personally for me as a cardiff fan i feel sick in my stomach how bad we where ,
and others can say don' t dwell on it move on" REALLY" Leeds have played quite a few teams and games in 50 years but the team they played today where the worse they have played in 50 years to notch up a 7 nil Win
But lets move on?
Move on to what
Do we have a plan apart from survival because i see no light at the end of the tunnel
Hope for next season perhaps?
but this in 125 years has been our worse start to a season and a big hammering today but never mind move on.
Sun Feb 02, 2025 10:05 am
I agree with you to some extent but what worries me is after our initial un beaten run of 6 we succumbed 1 0 to Luton and went on an abysmal run of no wins in 9...I just hope this hammering doesn't t send us on another run like that.....Still think we needed an experienced manager in from the start.....but hey ho we know what we get with Tan..
Fingers crossed

Bad day at the office .
As supporters we demand a positive response to this on the field .
Overall tho I am ok with how we are doing under Rizzler .
Put that result out of our minds .
Get behind the boys .
Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:23 pm
7-0 loss
Everyone is hurting . Let’s get behind the team and put it right .
Take the hammering on the chin and learn from it .
Big response needed from the players now .
No team talk needed , personal pride is the motivation.

We were shit and riza has to take the blame he started to open and doesn't know how to set up different in certain games it was crying out to pack the midfield today .we attacked lost the ball and they punished us everytime .

Transfermarkt
Leeds squad value 173m
Cardiff city value 46m
If we spent another 127m we wouldn’t have lost 7 nil.
That is the difference.

No surprise on what Leeds players are worth but how in the world are ours worth 46? Did you miss a decimal point & it's really 4.6m?
