The real interesting statistic is when was the last time we

The real interesting statistic is when was the last time we had a league game result worse than this !!

Not only is the goal difference 7 but we also scored “0” …this means if we lost say 8-1 ….it is a 7 goal difference …but because we scored that result will be better than a 7-0 ie an 8-1 is better than 7-0.

When was it that we had worse ? That is the question !! In what division were we ?

Leeds United FC:

52 Years Saturday’s result against Cardiff City was our biggest league win since the 4th March 1972, when we defeated Southampton 7-0 at Elland Road

We lost 9-0 at Preston on the last game of the 65/66 season. I was a young boy and it was my first season. I believe we had saved ourselves from relegation the Wednesday before by beating Middlesboro 5-3 sending them down instead, my first and certainly not last experience of a Second Division/Championship relegation battle. Celebrations obviously went on for a very long time!!

Another question. What was unusual about the 3 Boro goals?

Dickie Rooks scored a Hattrick two of the goals were penalties, the other on 90 minutes.

The championship was formed in 2004 in that time of there have been two 8-0 results and seven 7-0 results so Saturdays hammering was in the top ten of biggest defeats in this division.

Spot on. I thought it was unique because it was the first time a centre half had scored a sides all three goals. But apparently they were short of a forward so he played up front (or pushed him up front when they went behind). Whatever, what a way to get your one and only career hatrick. With relegation at the same time. A mixed night for him!!

It hurts now,but in time it will be forgotten and just become another statistic.
