Best ever..... and our away kit that year was also a stunner.

We did bring back the away kit for a season.... was it 2002?? I remember Earnie playing in it just before he left.

Jonny every year the Hierarchy get asked, they just ignore.

We did.

Loved that kit My kids who are now late 20s and early 30s do t think much of it to be honest Is it just us old guys who have an attachment too it ?
I would point out that all our owners since then have ignored the request to have it back and not just the current regime

Absolutely loved that kit. The first time I saw them they wore that. I had a replica for my games kit in school. Not many replicas around in mid 70s :old:

I had the full replica kit, I've still got the socks. :old:

100% the best kit we've had. My son's 26 and he loves it too.

If we'd played in that kit this season they would have had record sales.

Just looked at the photo again and although it’s the same kit, mine was from the 76/77 season (Tony Evans, Robin Friday etc). Remember the days when they didn’t change a kit every season?? :old:

Correct as it was not about ripping Fans off then.

Love those players.

Best kit ever not many bought replica kits in those days though I'm sure I got mine in John Charles sports shop in rhiwbina if my memory serves me correctly.

Everyone I know - which is quite a lot of City fans - loves that kit.
It’s iconic.

Not sure if the youngsters like it.

Would have been perfect for this season if only as a one off.

Love that kit, also loved the South Wales Echo shirt from early 90s.

Re: CCFC / MY FAVOURITE:

My favourite kit too - I remember buying the shirt and wearing it at nightclubs and pretending to be a Cardiff City youth team player :):)
It didn't really work in attracting the ladies! :)

He's not in the photo but wore that kit was Tony Evans, god if only we had him up front now.

Re: CCFC / MY FAVOURITE:

I loved that kit; and I wouldn’t mind seeing some of those players again

Some proper Bluebird ‘legends’ in there for me; starting with Phil ‘Joe’ Dwyer, John ‘Exocet’ Buchanan, and Bill Irwin! :ayatollah:

I think like you say it's an age thing. Love this kit & always have, I even have one of the shirts, not the original, sitting in my closet & it sometimes gets an airing.

Definitely has great memories for those of a certain age, I'm 61.

my favourite kit as well. I had a subuteo team. on it!

Re: CCFC / MY FAVOURITE:

This Kit was, in my opinion, the most iconic City kit, not only for the kit itself but also the brill memories of that mid 70's period.

I seem to remember a few teams had the stripe down the front side in those years, Luton (white with an orange stripe) and others.

Yes pity the heirachy do not listen, considering it is an anniversary year ? maybe a nice little money spinner too for Mr Tan & Co.

Evans and Alston Almost Guarenteed to score - ah well, rose tinted glasses and all that eh !!! :old:

The Wales kit was red with yellow & green stripes if I remember correctly.

Great times and some great players. Could do with those in our squad now along with Ron Healey, Peter Sayer, Adrian Alston and Keith Pontin

I still remember lots of games from the mid seventies and would love to go back in time to to my first game.

Yes and Coventry had a similar one with sky blue, darker blue and white.
