Pompey fan here, Pompey v cardiff

Sat Feb 08, 2025 10:20 pm

Alright lads, Pompey fan here. Posted many times over the years here because always liked Cardiff.
Anyway lads looking forward to Tuesday night.
Anything you travelling fans wanna know just ask.
A ay fans pub is the good companion, about a 10 minute walk to the ground.
In fairness you'll be welcome in any of the pubs around the ground.
Pompey fans always got respect for Cardiff.
If you're driving down then book a parking space at the Tesco behind the ground, because parking is wide street around fratton park and pretty much impossible on match days..
Happy to answer any questions.

How did it go yesterday? TalkSport say you out-played Sheff Utd and were very unlucky to lose?

Nice one 8 of us coming down in a small mini bus was hoping to call in the wicker Mill in Portchester, how far is that from the ground?...there is only one park and ride in Portsmouth so we were going to have a swift pint there and come nearer to the ground......what pub do you actually call in ?...

It's a good 5-6 miles from fratton park, and traffic coming onto the island is always bad
When Pompey are playing.
Unless you've a reason to go to the wicor mill id suggest the Good Companion, which is a short walk to the ground

One of those days where we couldn't hit a barn door in front of goal. Was a good performance though, and could have scored 3 or 4 on another day

You are a good guy but the last time we played Pompey our scarfer and ordinary fans were attacked by Pompey after the game at that pub , the good companion

They got a good beating when some of our coaches stopped to help out but it was a cowardly attack and I lost respect for Pompey that day

Sorry to hear that sludge.
All I can say is the good companion is the designated away fans pub.
But as I said above, imo you could drink anywhere around the ground and be welcomed.

Crap policing ....lots of them there before the game , loads of us , no Pompey

After the game small group of innocent fans get attacked by Pompey.....not a copper in sight

People went to prison for defending Cardiff ordinary fans that day

Sadly this is true I was in Pompey at the time. To make it worse the Cardiff ciach stopped to help and those ended up with jail terms.

Surprised by Pompey lads at the time as has been respect between both of us
