Josh Murphy

Showing us what he could do when he’s on form.

Shame we didn’t see it enough when he was with us.

Has run our defence ragged this first 15 minutes.

Sadly, he never played for us; fact!

Never seen that Josh Murphy at Cardiff unfortunately.
He ran the show. Created both their goals.

Basically won them the game.

Re: Josh Murphy

He was their only threat ,quieter second half but he had already done the damage earlier .compared to El ghazi he’s Messi :bluescarf:

Portsmouth will stay up because they have a couple of match winners like Murphy and Logan.

The rest of the players are just drilled, and work their absolute bollocks off.
Reminds me of when we got promoted on both occasions.

We had 3 or 4 match-winners, and the rest just worked their nuts off for the team!

He had a few games like that for us in the PL. But once we were relegated he just looked like a lost interest.

Pompey gave MOTM to Bishop but I thought Murphy was their best player.

Under Mick he also played pretty well.

Confidence player and our fans and confidence players don’t go hand in hand.

Portsmouth will stay up. Colby Bushop is their best player along Murphy and been injured most of the season but now he’s back they will have too much to go down.

He was running at Rinomhota who has arguably been one of our most consistent and important players since he came back into the team, so not sure that’s the reason.

Have to give credit where it’s due and he was a nightmare for our defense for the majority of the game.

'when he's on form' thats 1 game a year! he's shocking otherwise

Obvious he would bust a gut against us, same as Ebou Adam’s for Derby, surely the manager must know this is coming :banghead: MAN MARK THEM OUT OF THE GAME!’! :bluebird:

It really isn’t. And attitudes like this are where he now ripping us apart rather than doing it for us.

When he signed from Norwich he was seen as the better Murphy brother and was nominated for championship player of the year.

This lad is all about confidence. Both in himself and in his body. He was best player in league one for two months for Oxford and basically took them up. He has created second most chances in the championship and has 5 goals and 8 assists. Absolutely desperate for a player like him about now.

Well it isn’t is it.

And even if it was his performance yesterday had the last laugh realistically.

Agree with you Roath Blue. Check his form on fotmob it really isn’t one game a year.

He’s had a child and is settled now.

That has done a lot for his mindset.

Five goals and eight assists this season says different - better numbers than most of our attacking players.

He had a good season in League One last year and has now proven that he's still good at this level.

Didn't work out with us, but to say he's "shocking" couldn't be further from the truth.

Pleased for him that he's kicked on because there was always the potential there.

Better numbers than all the attackers not named Robinson.

Exactly, so the argument to that he isn't having a good season doesn't hold water.

Portsmouth biggest match winner is Fratton Park and its fans.

Didnt seem many of for the fight to be honest, Goutas looked as though he wants to be in the sun somewhere, we were second to every ball, Colwill seemed slower than normal which is slow as feck. We made Pompey look like Brazil to be honest. :bluebird:

Re: Josh Murphy

Josh Murphy will only play when he knows that he is up against a weak defender, going back to the pompey game at the CCS, NG had him in is pocket all game until he got subbed, Riza at fault again for not resting Rinno after he played 120mins at Stoke, once again we were let down by some school boy defensive errors, just hope these errors dont come back to haunt us come season end.
Hoping that the results will go in our favour tonight.

Agree with that Birdy Perry would have clattered into him first challenge.... He needed a "Joey Dwyer!"

Rino looked very tired out there last night :bluebird:

Re: Josh Murphy

Wed Feb 12, 2025 4:37 pm

I thought with rhino playing 120 minutes a few days ago and with Murphy being a confidence player with pace that NG should have started this game, I know he hasn't been great this season but he has a nasty edge to his game and he would have left one on Murphy early which would have made him a bit edgy everytime he got the ball, I said it in the ground when the line ups came out that I thought all there danger would come down that flank I dunno why the coaches couldn't see it

I always felt he and Bobby Reid suffered from playing under warnock. The amount of times he was given the ball out wide around halfway and left on his own, to take on usually 3 defenders. No wonder the poor kid ended up depressed.
