Omer Riza : "We're focused on what we need to do, And

Thu Feb 13, 2025 4:25 pm

Omer Riza:

"We're focused on what we need to do," Omer began. "We're happy with the result against Stoke [City] and disappointed with the result against Portsmouth. You can't be disappointed for too long though. The next game is always coming up.

"It's Bristol City. It's an important game. We've lost two in 11 games. But we know need to be better. We have the capability to do well. The boys are up for it. They know how important it is. They'll be up for it as well. But we're at home at the end. We'll take the game to them.

"They've got quite a patient approach. They've got a 3-4-3 and they're structured in their approach. They've got good individual players, who can get at you 1v1. We need to deal with these problems.

"We'll look to hurt them where we can. It'll be a good game."

"I feel like my leadership on the side of the pitch is a big part of who I am.

"I can't wait to get back down on the touchline."

Three points essential.

Anything less is completely unacceptable.

A bit OTT.

Bristol City are having a good season.

Only two defeats in the last eleven so that just proves Riza is doing well.

I would hope for a win but a draw wouldn't be unacceptable, as you put it.

I just hope we don't lose as we don't want to enter another downward spiral.

I think the players need to show they care and step up to the plate.

I also hope Riza sets us up to be attack minded and perhaps have a front 2 of Salech and CR47, with Alves and O'Dowda/ Ashford on the wings.

We are now at the stage where one point in our home games is not going to be enough especially when you consider how poor our away results are.

Yes you can say only two defeats in the last eleven but that includes the Cup games.

You could also say only three wins in the last eighteen league games and that doesn't sound quite so good does it?

Our away form is so bad and with some tough away games to come we have to maximise our home games or we will go down.

One point from each game between now and the end of the season is highly likely to see us relegated.

Still don't understand how it would be unacceptable to draw with a team who are two points off the top six.

We need a good performance up next and put a set of results together before the Cup match .

I might be a bit more inclined to agree with you if I were confident that we could pick up three or four wins on our travels but we've only won once away all season.

Is it likely that we'll win at Plymouth? I'd say not and we also have Sunderland and Sheffield United away where let's face it chances are we'll lose both and even a point from each of those games won't be enough if we don't start picking up three points in our home games.

Even then, we have Burnley at home who just don't concede goals and West Brom so there's another couple of games where you could say that one point would be acceptable given the opposition's position in the table.

Games are running out fast. Pompey was a vital game and we messed it up completely.

If we'd won on Tuesday then I agree that a draw tomorrow would not be a disaster but one point from every four available from now to the end of the season will not be anywhere near enough.

Bristol City may be seventh in the table but they just lost 1-0 at home to a Swansea side we beat comfortably only a few weeks ago.

I respect your opinion Worcester but for me anything less than three points tomorrow is just another nail in our coffin.

We are at home, Bristol City have only won 2 of their last 7 games.

We have to start Winning games.

We’ve Win 3 in our last 18 League games.

Draws at home or settling for a point at home even before we play is madness it shows where we are a team that will be relegated and Riza is the problem hopefully he will do the honourable thing and walk away
