Three times in 22 minutes Alnwick has kicked the ball out.
Get him out the team.
Fans in Canton, including me, not happy with him.

I agree Ned,
But Riza and the Transfer Committee have just given him a new contract.

Not just his kicking that is awful but his refusal to come off his line has cost us a few times this season and nearly did again today we really need to invest in a quality number 1 in the summer

Agree, he’s been really wasteful.
Surprised he hasn’t been dropped already

That save is the reason he’s in the team. Superb stop.

Agree top class save.

That was a great save. We have bigger problems than the keeper.

I'm guessing this is when he tipped it behind at his near post - that was a good save.
But I would still give Horvath a start next time.

not deserving of a change of goalkeeper..
We can’t be changing defence line up all time.. not now..
Riza needs to stop doing so many changes.. we need to win at least 6 games .. so he needs to get in his team team that will get those wins and stick with it.

The worm really has turned hasn't it? Glad I'm not a player reading this forum.
At one point, not an awful long time a go, Alnwick was flavour of the month and undroppable. Now he's garbage of all of a sudden for spooning the ball in to touch several times!
I remember when Horvath was getting pelters on here too not that long ago. No keeper is safe from vitriol it seems - goes in cycles.

Think you'll find I've always been critical of Alnwick.

I normally agree with Worcester posts, but I think Alnwick is perfectly adequate, and better than Horvarth. He made 2 very good and imp saves today.
As for your comment Annis you were clamouring for 30 year old Robinson to get a TWO year contract after one purple patch scoring. Its agame of opinions and, imo giving Robinson a 2 year extension was short sighted and a blunder. Otherwise the transfer committee ( and Riza?) did well in getting Mann, Salech and Alves. All are improvements in what we have.

My opinion is Alnwick is the better of 2 very average keepers and should keep his spot just because he's a better shot stopper than horvath but his kicking and refusal to come off his line is not good enough
Sat Feb 15, 2025 6:43 pm
Both these keepers make me nervous , both are great savers but there feet let them down and he definitely needs to work on coming out for the ball with good communication with his defenders before he gives me a heart attack

I think Alnwick is a Btec Allsop. He fools you into thinking he is better than he is with the keepy ups and casual attitude. He is in the bottom four in Xg if that's your thing and has a lot of practice removing the ball from the net. His job is to make saves so when he does we recite them as if he is Gordan Banks
I think Howath is the better keeper but Bulut insistence on him being at Aaron Ramsey's technical ability in the passing game ruined any confidence early doors.
They are probably both mid L1 but that's where we are heading

Contract isn’t that expensive to the club and his save was worth a lot today. Agree he can’t kick consistently but until he makes a clanger that’s his shirt and we should back him

I preferred Alnwick until the Derby game where he gave me kittens …just seems to have lost some confidence…
I would start Horvarth tbh

Alnwick is fine, he's not the reason we have shipped goals so no point in the usual "it's the GK" magnifying glass looking for faults. Our issue is defense and midfield defense transition, that's what we need to address. Hovarth is a nice kid but looked like a rabbit in the headlights on too many occasions, so if any improvement in the GK department is needed it's getting a decent number two for cover and to challenge.
We also need a decent GK coach as we have suffered since Dibble left and haven't replaced that position adequately.

Been saying this for months, Hovarth is the better keeper. Alnwick may just pip him on distribution and that's it

Was he on the pitch when they scored? Was on the line when kick taken and was on line when ball went in .....even when player headed it in from 6rds or less

They're 50/50 for me, as good and/or as bad as each other. Alnwick annoys me the way he stays on his line & Hovarth raises my blood pressure when he's trying to do his Messi impressions, that may have just been the instruction from Bulut though.

I've always said his ball distribution is shocking never rated him at all even before he come here. It's as if he half a sleep when they pass back to him he either finds touch or the other teams players 85% of the time on anything other than a pass to the center back or full backs but we think we are man city or real Madrid with tippy tappy crap around the back line and goalkeeper these days yet its costs us loads of goal despite us still doing it . Kills me.
