I was one of them. Delighted that he's proved me wrong this season.

It's more a reflection of the fact we haven't had many academy players in the first team, only Bagan and Rubin (who was very good today) have made it.

Bags in is 24 yrs old and only made 55 appearances as he’s taken a long time to finally look good.

We now need him to be consistent and hold his place.

Being a left footed player who's a good size to play LB of lcb gives him an even better chance!!

Was hoping he was going to be given a chance earlier but glad he's now getting the starts and for me he's only going to get better.

I thought Bagan came up through our academy but you're right actually, he was in the Southampton academy first.

But we also signed Joe Ralls from Farnborough.

He's alot more composed on the ball, and his last ditch sliding tackle was as important as the goal.

People here slagged off his loan to Belgium, saying it was too far below his level.

I think it goes to show that getting regular first team football, regardless of wether it's at a top level or not, really goes a long way for development.

Yes there’s nothing wrong with being proved wrong. We all go through that!

For me it proves that different players develop later or earlier than others.

All this he’s 20 or 21 (for example) and he should be in the first team is nonsense.

Yeh I thought bagan was fantastic today , everything he did was positive and he was so composed on the ball even with more pressure on him being the last man with goutas , very impressed and got to be one of his best games he’s played

I’ve always rated him, just lacked experience.
He’s never been given a real run in the team tho.
Still believe Ashford is better and has more long term potential.

He's got a hell of a long ranging pass on him.

From the academy it’s still Rubin.

Younger, More experienced, more appearances and although he goes missing sometimes, changes the game more.

I’ve always try to be positive about everything city no matter what, maybe (definitely) I bury my head in the sand. But this thread has really made it hit home what a state we in on the development of players. If colwill is the best player the academy had produced since Ramsey, then we really are miles behind in development of young players. That is very worrying and says a lot about the standard we put out.

Same was said about Ciaran Brown.

He’s now player of the year in the championship at Oxford. He would get into the Cardiff side now and be first pick centre back.

Better all round player than Robinson. Does a lot for the team. Chases and presses.

Robinson has goals this year but without the goals like playing with ten men.

I think Cian Ashford is going to be a great player for us hopefully for years to come
