Omer Riza: “We showed Character/played well/ improved/I’m Ha

Omer Riza:

“I thought we played well.”

“I thought there were elements of the game I was really happy with. I think we just need to be a little bit more threatening at times.”

“I’m disappointed we let a goal in from a set play, which put us on the back foot a little bit. We made life hard for ourselves today with some of the mistakes.”

“Going one nil down and then to show the character to come back and take a point is really important. It’s a big point again - would we have liked three, yes, but we have to be happy with the point.”

“We showed the character and as promised, we improved from the Portsmouth and Leeds games.”

“The boys showed great character, the subs were very impactful,” he said. “The combination with the three that come on, I think Chris Willock was lively, Rambo’s [Aaron Ramsey] pass, Ash’s [Cian Ashford] cross and Salech’s movement in the box to score is credit to them.@

“Ramsey came on, showed character, leadership and quality. It was a sublime pass, we know that’s the quality he’s got, and he made two, three or four passes like that which were key opportunities, which is what he’s good at.”

“We are getting there and improving.”

Disagree with him actually, don't think we played well and the team selection was wrong.

Fortunate to get a point because we didn't threaten their goalkeeper enough.

It’s not good enough time is running out , we need an experienced manager to try and keep us up .

And if we do that and he fails then what? an experienced championship coach in div 1 can be as bad as having experienced div 1 coach managing championship side ....nothing is garaunteed in football but one thing garaunteed at city if riza goes purse takes over :o

If purse was in tans mind why didn’t he offer to purse in first place? I don’t think purse is up to it and tan knows this so getting rid of Riza isn’t so much of a risk as I think a more experienced manager will come in

Completely disagree.

Tan has, ever since Warnock, brought in the option which costs the least and will do what Tan says.

He offers short term contracts and doesn’t back the manager in the window.

The fact that some people believe that if Riza goes, all of a sudden Tan will go out and offer a 3 year contract to a proven manager at this stage of the season is completely naive.

If he was going to bring in a proven manager he would have done it when Bulut left.

Robins, Cooper, Bilic, there was options. We didn’t end up with any of them for a reason. Tan.

The quicker people realise this then the quicker people will get behind the manager and the team.

It’s the regime to blame, not Riza.

Riza is managing the team buck stops with him obviously Riza wanted this job why wouldn’t he? He would kiss tans arse to get it Riza needs to be replaced draws at home or away or losing to our rivals are not acceptable any manager on these terms would be gone 3 wins in 18 games now is that acceptable? If it’s not manager picks the team bucks ends with him

It won’t happen anyway , purse needs to get away from the first team he wasn’t good enough for the unders . Why has he been promoted ,clubs in a diabolical mess . League one then onto League two would be happy to be proved wrong but can’t see it.

We aren’t going to get an experienced manager in. We had that chance and Tan turned it down.

As I said I don’t know why you think all of a sudden he will change his approach.

Agree no idea why purse is anywhere near 1st team but its probably because we don't have enough coaches for senior squad.... one thing is certain he will not be there if get in experienced coach but unfortunately he'll go back to youth set up and ruin it again..... yes div1 could lead to div 2 under tan going on his current philosophy...

I’m living in hope he replaces Riza yes can’t see it happening but would like to see it just my opinion but it probably won’t as you said

As I've said before, Tan will not give a manager a decent contract 2 maybe 3 years, so we will not get anyone experienced. So we will end up with Riza or Purse in league one.

To say that he was pleased with the character shown by the team to come back, proves that his own selection at the start of the match was wrong in the first. The team at the end, should have been the lineup at the beginning, and then, I am sure we would have had a better result. His starting lineup was so defensive and predictable, that we were always going to be up against it. Why oh why does he not play to our strengths from the start, especially with Ramsey backing in the fold now, and a powerful striker with two fast and tricky wingers! PLEASE, PLEASE let’s start with these players next Saturday at Plymouth with a midfield possibly of Ramsey, Mannsverk and Robertson. That would be very interesting!
