A forum for all things Cardiff City

So many threads and posts talking about ‘3 wins in 19’ - that is handpicked to suit a certain agenda.
Likewise is ‘Only 2/3 losses in 11’
Both suit a certain agenda. So let’s cut that out and look at it as a whole.
When Riza took over, we were firmly rooted to the bottom of the league. 1 point. 1 goal. FACT.
Riza inherited the team. FACT.
Yes he was here as a COACH, at the start of the season, but Bulut was the manager and Bulut made the decision of how we played. FACT.
We were dead and buried with Bulut.
We were going nowhere, showing no sign of attacking.
Now we are above the bottom 3, no matter how many points, it could be goal difference. If we are above the bottom three come the end of the season, we remain in the championship.
This thought process has previously been seen as ‘no ambition’.
That is garbage.
We had our chance to get in a proper manager like Robins or Bilic, we didn’t take the option. Why? Because Tan has his way of recruiting. Cheap. Someone that will put up with what he does.
I’m actually really annoyed by the amount of posts referencing ‘19 games’, without talking about the unbeaten January, the run he went on when he took over, the players he has brought in (which as I’ve previously said on another thread, everyone was slagging off before they even kicked a ball), and ultimately their expectations for this season.
Being in a relegation scrap and wanting to stay up IS NOT a lack of ambition. It’s realistic.
We aren’t a team who are going to make play offs this season. We aren’t a team who offer 2 or 3 year contracts to well established managers. It’s wrong, and we should do.
There isn’t a lack of ambition from the fans. There’s a lack of ambition from the board.

14 points from last 10 games puts us 11th in form table. This is again facts.

But selected facts

Why 10?
My opinion is Tan thinks of himself as the Director of football and the head coach (not the manager) has to buy into the philosophy. Riza may well go on and have a stellar career and Tan has found a gem or he is wildly inexperienced with no form in the book to be at a top 10 league.
Whatever happens its Tans ball and he can do what he likes with it.

Just to prove a point that both sides can do it really!

Great post and finally someone's put things into perspective.

When you talk about getting a manager in on a 3 year contract you must included his own players he will want to bring in. Vincent Tan is not going to entertain that.
As for how we are doing on the pitch we need to look where we are in the table and that is firmly in a relegation fight. Forget the stats being thrown about it what we can do now and how we are playing. My personal opinion right now is we are going down. If by luck we stay up then Omar deserves another season with us. If he takes us down I have a feeling he will be given the chance to bring us back up.

2/3 losses in 11, 3 wins in 17 its all stats, and in this league, form books can be torn up very quickly.
We are 3 points off bottom 3 and its nearly March, thats the only stat what I am seeing. And we have a good squad, good players, good variety and should be nowhere near this current position. That is down to management the previous one who was dreadful and the inexperienced current one who is very much still learning his trade. Behind these managers is Vincent Tan. His choices, his decisions, Its on him.
This anniversary season has been simply not good enough. End of
