To be played at Wembley.

A good chance for Bellamy to test his players against higher level opposition.

More importantly good excuse for a day on it in London.

The fact they're ranked fourth on the rankings.

Even if you don't believe in rankings, they've been to the last two Euro finals.

It's not exactly a controversial take to say that England are a higher quality team than us

Anyone who knows anything about football.

No Welsh player would get into a 30 man England squad. Probably wouldn’t get into a 50 man England squad.

I’m a bit bored so I’ve done a Welsh squad list.

First choice GKs are Darlow and Ward.

England have Pickford, Ramsdale, Henderson, Pope, Trafford well ahead.

Right back is Conor Roberts or Neco (who plays left back mostly)

England have Trent, Walker, White, James, Lewis,

Centre backs are Rodon, Mepham, Cabango, Davies (who can also play left back)

England have Stones, Maguire, Dunk, Colwill, Guehi, Konza, Mings, Branthwaite

Left backs are Williams or Davies

England have Shaw, Hall, Davis, Chilwell

Centre Mids Ampadu, James, Wilson, Ramsey, Cooper, Sheehan

England have Bellingham, Rice, Jones, Wharton, Mainoo, Gallagher, Ward Prowse, loftus cheek,

Attacking mids / wingers Johnson, James, Thomas, Brooks, Burns

England have Palmer, Foden, Saka, Gordon, Grealish, Bowen, Eze, Sancho, Rashford, Maddison, Rogers, Gibbs White

Strikers Moore, Harris, Bradshaw

England have Kane, Watkins, Solanke, Toney, Calvert Lewin, Delap,

Bonkers the disparity. I think you could name 50 England players before even having a Welsh player possibly come into the equation. Johnson and Davies possibly.

3 days before we play Belgium at home in a qualifier. I don’t get it personally. If the friendly was mandatory, play San Marino or Andorra and play the B team.

You're not wrong, but you don't half push your point of putting down Wales and Cardiff, on a Welsh/Cardiff forum.

Only a one eyed Welsh man with rose tinted glasses on would think England are not at a higher level Our results against them just go to prove it over the years. Of course we all hope on the day we win But yes they are a higher level

It was in response to something someone said and to back up a point I made when agreeing with Worcester.

I think you are just annoyed I left off Colwill in my list of centre / attacking midfielders. You probably think he’s equal to palmer or someit.

I have been quite positive about Cardiff especially since the Jacks game which really seemed a turning point and I love what Bellamy is doing with Wales. As shown in the past team spirit can overcome on field deficiencies. There are so many who are far more negative about Cardiff than I.

It’s so frustrating as he shows glimpses of such amazing ability.

I stand by it, he's got the best 'half turn' in the division, cutting between the lines is his trade. Shame half turns don't win matches. He'd be an excellent 12th player.

Ridiculous fixture 4 days before what could be a massive World Cup qualifier game against Belgium

I think based on form this season Nico Williams gets in the England squad as a left back

He doesn’t start all the ganes for Nottm Forest so probably not.

I rate Williams though and think he could be really good especially as a wing back.

I think Nico has done enough since Moreno's injury to make it his own and give left back is the one position England are slightly lacking in I think he gets in.
Agree with your point about the strength England have some of the players who don't even get mentioned for England call up could have 40 + caps for Wales, Kilman (went for 40m) McNeil, Burn, Ben Mee even someone like Ryan Yates would have a big involvement.
Shows how not just Wales but many countries with small player pools have over achieved really.

England will probably play one of Alexander-Arnold, Kyle Walker or Reece James at LB when it comes to major tournaments. Would argue any of those are better overall players than Williams, even on the wrong side of the pitch.

Lewis Hall also having a very good season for Newcastle so he may come into their thinking.

Although I would add that when it comes to defending, Williams is one of many who are better at that then Alexander-Arnold.

We definitely over achieved in 2016.

Man that tournament was amazing.

Bale really was at the very top of his game when he played for Wales and he clearly loved it so much.

Re: England v Wales 9 Oct Wembley :

We should get 7000 tickets for this one. Wales are capable of getting a result there

Best X1. at present is

Darlow
Neco
Beck
Davies
Roden
Amps
James
Johnson
Brooks
Wilson
James

That’s a very good team. If Greece & Iceland can get a win there then so can we.

Watching the Newcastle v Forest game and I don't think Wales have any LBs who are anywhere near as good as Lewis Hall, and he's only 20.

Re: England v Wales 9 Oct Wembley :

Of the 20 teams in the premier league, I can only think of 10 Welsh players in all the squads, and 3 of them are goalkeepers, and one is out injured, They are David Brooks, Harry Wilson, Wes Burns, Nathan Broadhead, Nico Williams, Ben Davies, Brennan Johnson, Danny Ward, Wayne Hennessey and Tom King. So that would be 10 Welsh players from 520 players.
