Plymouth Argyle’s manager is Miron Muslić, who was appointed

Plymouth Argyle’s manager is Miron Muslić, who was appointed last month.

He first stepped into coaching in 2014, as assistant manager of Austrian side Weißkirchen.

Muslic spent a number of years in the lower tiers of Austria, as manager of both SV Ried II and Floridsdorfer AC.

His first top-flight job came as assistant manager at Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge. Following the departure of Dominik Thalhammer, the former forward was promoted to manager.

During his time in Belgium, he led the side from the relegation zone to a sixth-place finish in his first season in charge.

The following campaign, Cercle Brugge qualified for Europe for the first time in 14 years, but he was dismissed in December last year following a poor start to the season.

Since taking charge at the Pilgrims, Muslić has doubled their amount of victories for the season, winning three of his first eight games in charge.

Plymouth Argyle head coach Miron Muslic has claimed his side are "improving in a million things" after Wednesday night's 1-1 draw at Luton Town.

In a fixture between two of the Championship's strugglers, Jacob Brown opened the scoring for Luton just 13 seconds after coming on as a substitute while Ukraine international Maksym Talovierov equalised at 70 minutes.

"I think we are generally improving in a million things and that just leads naturally to a stabilised team," said Muslic to BBC Radio Devon.

"If you are stable, you are way more competitive and you can collect points. Not only at home but especially away."

Plymouth currently have the worst away record in the Championship this season and before Muslic's arrival had three draws and 11 losses on the road.

Under the Austrian coach however, the Devon club have picked up two points from three away fixtures since his appointment, with draws at Sunderland and Luton coming either side of a defeat at Blackburn Rovers.

Muslic understands that a change in results will be needed should Argyle survive relegation.

"I'm completely aware of the terrible record we have away but these are also things you can change and turn around," he added.

"It was not easy tonight, it was also not easy in Sunderland just three weeks ago but I think we're getting closer to being more competitive not only at home.

"We will need to collect those points away to stay up."

Plymouth return to Home Park this Saturday against fellow strugglers Cardiff City and Muslic's side could climb out of the relegation places for the first time since November if they beat the Bluebirds.

"It will be massive if we perform well against Cardiff. Home Park, fortress, that is the plan," added Muslic.
