That must be the lowest number of points combined the bottom 3 have ever had after that many games. I must say I did expect the 3 promoted teams to be relegated at start of season. The only ones I though may have a chance were Leicester

Clubs not spending the money so got no hope of staying up Leicester could if swap manager again? Begs question what are clubs doing with the money which includes parachute payments!

I watched Leicester v Brentford on Friday and they looked way out of their depth. Still find the decision to sack Cooper so early strange.

Ipswich if any of them have the best chance of staying up.

Leeds will stay up next season. One of the clubs who escape this season will go down

Yes I can see Leeds spending the money in the right places to keep themselves up.

Sheffield United will probably join them in getting promoted. Can see them coming straight back down again.

Burnley won't stay up if they go up. Apart from a few games, they haven't scored many goals this season and are only up there because of their defensive record - that won't be enough in the PL.

Some clubs have the strategy when they go up of buying players that are top Championship players. That way, when and if they come back down, they are well equipped to go for promotion again.

It means when they return to the PL, they are much better equipped to stay there having already had the experience of being there.

This is what happened with Burnley and Dyche, and it worked.

I imagine that is Ipswich's strategy. But, to be fair, they're best placed of the promoted teams to stay up. Done the right thing by sticking with McKenna all season too.

The Premier league has almost become a closed shop.

Last May, for the first time since 1998 in the Premier League, all three teams that were promoted from the Championship the previous season were relegated. Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton all went straight back down -

Same looks like happening this season to this point ....
