Risa’s subs?????

Tue Feb 25, 2025 10:51 pm

Great win and well done lads!!!

What is going on with our subs???? Game after game they seem panicked and lacking a game plan.

We get to the last twenty and start making subs… player end up playing multiple positions and four or five different formations…

Tonight Robertson at ten then to CM
Bagan to CM and then on to form a back five.
Davies on the wing and then centre forward
Colwill on the left…

What the heck?

I didn't see anything wrong with them.

Not unusual to change the team set up several times when you make your substitutions.

They helped us see out the game so I thought Riza got them spot on.

I think a few were a bit random as had to change shape etc. But got to remember the impact of 10 at Plymouth and a few would have been running on empty.

The 3 points was all that mattered tonight and he/team delivered!!

I do struggle with our game plan sometimes. Rinomhota was running on fumes but still pushed upfeild and lost the ball too often. Surely just a flat back 4 and a sitter was the way to go in the last 15 mins especially when El Ghazi is your "cover" (loose term)
Got away with it thats why i am in the stands and not the dugout

Rinomhota looked shattered after 55 mins and should've been the 1st to be taken off

He certainly looked well out of it at that time didn’t he. I was saying “what’s happened to him?” Forgetting the shifts he’s put in on the recent games. Fair play to him he’s like a horse, keeps running until he keels over. Maybe now Ng seems to back on it, Rino might be rested. But I’m sure he won’t want that rest and risk losing his regular place.

Wasn't he playing out of position last night? But should have been substituted that would have e helped the team defend better as he did lose possession several times that enabled then to attack....but I'm not sure about Riza’s substitutions feel they don't help the situation? Changing formation or similar is generally done if you are countering opposition changes... on Saturday riza said no Ralls so couldn't take rambo off? Was there no-one he could have used?

I said to my daughter before we made our 1st subs he needs to take him off, he looked done. I expected to see Bagan come on for him with NG switching to right back and Bagan left sided centre back. A few minutes later saw Robertson and Davies getting ready and thought maybe Robertson is coming on for him with either Chambers moving to right back or Chambers centre back and NG right back. I was surprised he wasn't taken off at that point and even more surprised he lasted the full game.

Fair play to him, he keeps going and doesn't give up, he's been excellent since coming back into the side

my only issue with the subs was he brought Davies on too early, he's not quite ready imo he looked lost on the wing and was leaving rhino exposed, he done a little better when riza moved him upfront but he looked like he was treading in water at times, I thought it was a bit risky bringing him on at the hour mark
