Line up against Villa

Thu Feb 27, 2025 1:36 pm

As we know, Riza has said it will be a weakened team for the villa game. So what's your thoughts/guess on our line up?
I think we could look something like:

............... Turner.
...Ng....Fish.. Bagan...Giles.
........Chambers..Mans.
.. Issak.....Rubin....El Ghazi.
................. Simic.

I think Robinson may start though, he will want to start. But this one is a tricky call

I think that's probably close to what we'll go with.

Riza also said Ramsey is in contention so he may come in for Mannsverk, as he won't want to risk an injury to Mannsverk.

I was thinking that but the extra test may mean Ramsey will be well fit for Burnley. Also, I’d play Ralls for Mannsverk if fit.

Ralls is out for three weeks.

The way Riza was talking in his press conference, sounded like he intends to play Ramsey.

Ahh right. Seems like it will be Rambo then.

It would be nice to see El Ghazi bang one in, and Issak for that matter :bluebird:

Keep with the players who have got us this far, no need to run players into the ground.

Pretty sure Riza has said Alves is unavailable due to injury

Can’t see Chambers, Mannsverk playing.

Ramsey and one of the kids

Salech might play?

Shouldn’t risk any players with ‘niggles’, as the Championship is our absolute priority. However, I think Omer Riza will put out a team to ‘give it a go’ against a Villa team that will also be mixed but likely to want to progress in the only domestic trophy they have left to fight for

I can see Goutas, El Ghazi, Robinson and Rambo starting with ‘run outs’ given to the players who are most likely to come into the team to cover injuries/suspensions in the next few weeks

El Ghazi if Alves is unavailable.

I don't believe we should be resting players ahead of Burnley Tuesday night. 6 points clear of the relegation zone and the 6000+ fans travelling deserve to see us erry everything to progress

There is no way that team will be playing tonight.

Easy to say. Perhaps put your expected team up?

Re: Line up against Villa

I am expecting a front three of Metie, Davies & El Ghazi

Rubin Robertson & Rambo in the middle, barely a tackle in that lot, but if we do get the ball, they can hold onto it

I agree entirely. Don't take any risks with players with niggles but if fit, play a strong side. Gives them more time playing together and lets be fair they have 4 days rest before Burnley not 48 hours.

I’m going for:

Hovarth
Rino Fish Lawler O’Dowda
Ramsey either Mafico/Gbadehan
Ashford Colwill Davies
El Ghazi
