Up to him I suppose but hope the media understand that I for one, don’t give a hoot whether wales rugby team wins or nor (as well as all of the jokes called regional clubs).

Thought this was about Jason Mohamed when I saw Spurs were involved.

Very few of the so-called rugby 'stars' support Welsh teams. You know the 'type' ... rugby is our national sport ... blah blah blah ... I'm a proud welshman ... blah blah blah.
So which welsh football team do you support? ... errr ... Spurs
You couldn't make it up :laughing5: :laughing5: :laughing5:

That’s always been the issue. People bringing up their kids to be armchair fans when they should be supporting local teams in person. Just lazy glory hunting and such parents are clueless. No respect for any of the excuses these plastics come up with.

For me it's either your local team or the team your parents support (if they're from London, like this example).

Anything else is wrong. :D

You missed my point. I get that his dad is from London and therefore why Sam became a spurs fan, but he’s not from London and neither are his kids. So how many generations does the connection carry on for, when they are just being brought up as armchair fans? How many kids are fans of PL teams because of their dad, when their dad doesn’t go to matches? Thousands and thousands, maybe because somewhere in the family chain a great great grandad was from Liverpool or Manchester or London.

Break the chain and support your local team.

So, just to be fair to Sam, I have known his dad Jez, a lovely man and no mean (soccer) player himself, for a long, long time and he has always been a Spurs supporter from birth with no real link or affiliation to Cardiff City FC

When you are brought up from birth in a household that supports a specific team in any sports, it’s fully understandable that a bond with said team is made; particularly when you go watch (nee support) that team, too!

Me? My grandad was from Bristol and played for the Rovers pre-WWII until a serious injury stopped him playing. He later moved to Cardiff for work. He never forced that team on us though and his son (my uncle) started taking me to Ninian Park to watch games when I was still quite young. I loved the atmosphere, the noise, the smell, the feeling of elation when we scored; particularly under the lights in night games

I was hooked and it’s been a lifetime journey for me; with plenty of ‘downs’ but the odd ‘up’ that will stay with me forever!

SW's Dad grew up in Rhiwbina, not London, but he has always supported Spurs and England national team.

Some years ago I did a few days work at Rodney Parade where the Gwent Dragons were training. One day when they walked of the pitch and passed my van, they spotted my City scarf across the windscreen and remarked that football was crap and rugby fans could sit together during a game and no trouble while football fans can't. I told them there was a good reason for that and they all stopped to ask me why. I told them it was because rugby doesn't matter. You should have seen their faces. I love being a City fan. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I have no issue with supporting the team from the area your dad is from and who he supports.

What i find pathetic is people try to justify their allegiance through some distant connection. You know the type. "I support Liverpool because my great grandad was from Liverpool". You have 4 great grandads. Funny they don't choose the team their great grandad from Rochdale supported :laughing6:

Even worse is when they refer to teams like Liverpool as "we", even though they have no connection with the club or have ever seen them play live. Revelling in the glory of such a team really sticks in my throat.

Does anyone here really care why someone doesn't support CCFC? I know I don't, couldn't think of much less interesting.

Have to agree.

Not up to us to tell people who to support, it's their life and their choice.
