Points - rest of the season : How many points

Sun Mar 02, 2025 7:46 pm

Points - rest of the season :

How many points are we going to end up with …. and will they be enough to keep us up ?

Our home games are - Burnley , Luton , Sheffield Wed , Stoke , Oxford and WBA .

My guess is one loss , two wins and three draws . 9 points for our six home games.

Our six away games are quite a bit more challenging . Sunderland , Blackburn , QPR , Preston , Sheffield Utd and Norwich . My guess is two losses , one win and three draws . A total of 6 points away .

All in all my guess is therefore 15 points in our last 12 games …..giving us a total of 51 points.

My view is that Hull and yes Luton have enough to pull out of trouble …..but not so Stoke and Oxford .

Portsmouth May be dragged into the relegation mire , but I believe that their fighting spirit will keep them safe .

My conclusion is that we will not be relegated ….but only by a small margin .

12 games is a lot of games (about a quarter of the season) …..but we have a really tough and challenging March . If we are still clear by 5 points at the end of March ….then we will be safe .

And My Final thoughts once again yet another clear out including Manager and assistants and show next summer We will be Ambitious

The good news is we have 3-6 very good younger players ready for next season:

I don't mind if we get by with mostly draws as long as it keeps us up.

We will lose to Burnley and Sunderland but if we get a result from either of them, we can afford a draw with Luton. Just can't afford to lose to Luton.

Riza is doing a great job to have us outside the bottom three and confident he will keep us up, which is the target now.

You know my very strong view Ned:

By now we should not be battling with relegation, we should be about 8-10.

A whole season of battling relegation.

I think we will end on 49 points.

I think it’ll be enough to keep us up, I can’t see Plymouth, Derby, Stoke Hull or Luton finishing above us.

We need to push on in the summer though and even though Tan has said he won’t do it, we are in desperate need of a DoF to bridge the gap between board and manager.

Personally I think 46 points will be enough to keep us up and we should do that fairly comfortably

If we do stay up for the first time in years we should have the basis of a decent young squad for next season

47 maybe 48 points, I think anything over 43 is safety…

A 5 point gap, a game in hand and a better goal difference than Luton might not seem a lot but it’s a huge advantage at this stage of the season
None of the teams in the bottom 6/7 places are good enough to go on a long unbeaten run and pick up points on a consistent basis
I’m fairly confident of us staying up comfortably

I think we will get enough points to stay up come the end of the season.
The Manager needs to be changed ASAP to prepare for next season as soon as we are guaranteed safe from relegation, otherwise we will only have a carbon copy of this next season.

well my feeling is we will be relegated with this manager draws are no good .sides below us will go on a run luton won the other day against portsmouth maybe there start to be on a good run just like we supposily did with mainly draws
i worry about our conceding goals this season our goal difference actually could see us relegated on goal difference
im not optimistic i wish i was its just a feeling ive had since riza came in im hoping im wrong and i will eat humble pie of course if im proved wrong

As predicted, we lost to Burnley and Sunderland.

Unlucky not to get a point from either of them - fans should be happy about that.

Nothing has changed which is also good.

Just as well ned but there are 4 clubs above us just as vulnerable as us ... as long as that stays same things are bad but not as bad as others ..
