Riza can take us to the Premier League

Mon Mar 03, 2025 6:10 pm

I've seen some say that if we want to progress then we will need a new manager next season, even if we stay up.

I don't agree, maybe Omer Riza is the manager to take us to the Premier League.

I expect us to stay up this season.

Every manager has to get their chance somewhere. Riza has been given his with us and he is still learning.

He will have learnt a lot from this season and that means he won't make the same mistakes next season.

I think he'll need a few more young signings and at least one more coach.

But if he keeps us up, he will stay and he could be the man to take us back to the Premier League.

Madness / April fools day

Riza at best take us to League 1 or just scrape relegation

I’m chocking on my dinner

Whilst I think he’s doing a good job and don’t think we should get rid of him at this point in the season, I’m not sure about next season.

For me it would depend on a few things:

Who is available?
Who would be interested?
Will Tan stump up for a more experienced manager?

If the answer to those questions points at our next manager being Purse, then stick with Riza.

Riza has also made history as one of the worst defences ever.

By the way Tan rings Riza an average of 9-12 a game telling him the tactics he wants

Derby Plymouth Luton fans will love you as you've got us relegated ahead of at least one of these three!

Ned have you been at the left over Christmas sherry.
Surely with all your years of football you can see Riza is completely out of his depth.

Sorry annis That's as ludicrously silly as neds post... I sit above dugout and in all home games ive been to I've never seen a fone in his hand and certainly nothing in his ears to communicate with anyone.... he may discuss tactics at sometime but 12 times in a game surprised we haven't lost all our games considering tans expertise on football tactics....

I recorded the villa cardiff game the comnentator said of riza he was the most inexperienced manager in the championship,
if riza is not gone at the end of the season i shall not bother eith a season ticket
I cannot watch another season of us fighting relegation with no hope.

Well ned i would be surprised if anything went down well when it comes to managers.... can get clop next season and some will complain he's German!! In fairness if riza was in div 1 your statement could stack up as several managers started there and went on to premier league .... but not start in championship its tough for any manager as we know.....

I don't know what everyone is fussing about. The OP is an optimist and we could do with a little optimism on here. It could happen but in case it doesn't I would like to give Riza another season - assuming he keeps us up. He is bonding with the players and making progress with them - so I don't think they would take too kindly to his departure.

Allan,

I 100% can tell you now it’s true.

I can never ever tell you how I know.

But phone calls start before the game, then texts then text home calls.

Come on even previous managers have spoken out.

Well I can virtually guarantee one thing … if Riza keeps us up, and I strongly believe he will, he’ll be our manager next season.

We conceded 74 in the premier league in 38 games which is very recent That is a far worse average than currently

Deffo, If Riza keeps us up then he will be our manager for next season, Remember the majority of people on this forum wanted Mark Robbins as our manager when he got sacked by Coventry, he really is not setting the world alight at Stoke is he, I say better the devil you know.

What a load of bollocks about Tan phoning Riza in games to tell him about tactics. Appreciate this is an anti-Tan forum but you’re just looking a little desperate and silly now.

When he keeps us up I will definitely back him as manger next season he deserves chances. Football getting better everyone is raving about colwill that’s credit to Riza, ashford is a revelation. Robinson is scoring goals salach could be one of our best signings for years chambers looks good in mid field. This is all down to Riza I’d give him a chance to take us forward.

Will you say sorry if I'm right and Riza takes us up next season Annis?

I really believe with the right young signings and another coach, he will come good.

Remember that Malky, Warnock etc all got their chance somewhere.

Riza definitely will be the manager next season and I believe he has what it takes.

It’s possible Riza has a bluetooth ear piece connected to his phone so it could be true :D

Re: Riza can take us to the Premier League

Mon Mar 03, 2025 8:25 pm

If/when he keeps us up I think he'll be our manager next season. It doesn't matter that I believe we could do with someone who has more experience because I'm not the owner and it also doesn't mean I don't have any ambition despite what Annis keeps saying, the two things have nothing to do with each other.

That doesn't make me a Tan lover either but a realist because he's in charge not me.
