I'd written off any hope of getting a result out of this if I'm honest. Burnley have the second best away record in the league for a reason.
Didn't help ourselves with defensive mistakes leading to going 2-0 down.
Great header from Salech to make it 2-1.
Second half was much better than the first but we couldn't get the equaliser. Fish should have equalised at the end.
Salech MOTM for me but Horvath made some big saves again.
Another tough game on Saturday means the Luton game will be huge.

Watching that, I’m absolutely gutted and quite angry, Burnley are nothing special and we deserved a draw, they might have their one season back in the premier league but they will come back down, that’s just me being bitter

riza got it wrong first half tactics to defensive he sets out to draw games then when we concede we trying to play catch up all the time how many clean sheets have we had this season? i can probably count them on one hand hes totally inexperinced for this league

Manager set us up all wrong again,2 down before we start, how people defend him is beyond me, he needs to go.

But why did we play so deep and defensive first half, if we played and put them under the cosh like we did in the second half Im sure we could of got us points from this game, so angry and fustrated tbh.

A must win game at home against Luton next week, cant see us getting anything at Sunderland tbh not the way Riza will set us up anyway.
People who support Riza must be bonkers this bloke will relegate us unless he lets the shackles of some of the players and not play so sodding deep all the time.

Start the Luton game with the team that finished the game today and go for a win.
And if you can find someone in that team that can take a corner that passes the first man that would be an advantage

Not saying it after the event, I thought Riza got it wrong tonight.
Our midfield was more attacking against Villa away than tonight and that really invited Burnley on to us.
The halftime stats told their own story.
Yes they are near the top but we gave away our home advantage by the way we set up.
Better second half perfomance but we gave ourselves a mountain to climb against the best defence in the league.

Yet people were saying before ko that the starting 11 was our best side, injuries aside.
Opinions eh?”

We're conceding virtually the same way every time now. Long diagonal into the fullback areas, winger cuts it back and a tap in for whoever is in the box.
The opposition are targeting our full back areas this way nearly every game now because we don't have proper full backs and there is far too much space in behind.
I like Rino's work rate but let's have it right since we beat the Jack's he's been found out for what he is, a centre mid playing right back.
Same on the other side O'Dowda is a winger playing at left back, Sometimes we are starting games with only 2 natural defenders.
Manager needs to take the blame for this and if he doesn't sort it out soon we'll be going down.

was on paper our best side but the tactics are totally wrong thats down to the manager 441 at home seriously after we start chasing the game second half with subs we looked much more of a threat they were poor for a side at the top of the table we gifted them that win by our managers tactics

Agreed, but in Riza's defense it was Bagan who was our left back today (until the last 20 mins when O'dowda was put there because we were attacking).
And he hooked Rino at half time and played Ng at right back, so he did adjust.

Its the championship, generally its defensive mistakes that concede goals. It's why the championship king, Warnock got the ball forward quickly, make your mistakes further up field!!!
Our goal was a series of missteps from them, they had opportunities to clear the ball and two centre halfs against one striker.
Scott Parker has superior players, but plays to what they are good at. We try to be Citeh when Perry NG can't pass it to his left!!! We hold onto the ball far longer than they did, thats why they tore us a new one. So much quicker in thought and skill and so well drilled

I don't think any iteration of our defence is good enough for this level. The goals against data proves that.
Richard Shaw needs to tell Goutas and co. that they are allowed to attack a moving ball into the box. Most of our goals are soft, and in between out CB's.
Why we didn't recruit in Jan is mind boggling. Mannsverk has also come in and seems to sit deeper than impact goals for, unsure if he's adding much other than looking tidy on the ball (which Rubin gets pelters for).

Might have made mistakes allowing ball to be crossed but your being very disingenuous to salechs ability to beat them in the air to the ball.....they didn't make mistake he outjumped them fair and square

Not criticising riza and in fairness to rino, from where I was sat they were playing 3 at the back and then were doubling up on rino didn't get sufficient protection from Ashford a simple adjustment could have been ng to full back move rino to right side midfield bring bagan inside, odowda then to full back. Rino would have supported ng allowing ashford to attack down right countering they're wing back. Would have made them think and may have stopped second goal. Just a thought.

Riza never counter oppositions tactics... our subs are nearly always to chase a goal or defend what we have? the latter nearly never works as we know.... he really is tactically very nieve and not sure he's capable of changing his safety 1st start to games... as for defence wtf is purse there for? He's an ex defender who can't coach defencive tactics as we make same mistakes all the time.

Our home games are going to be the key to staying up - anything away from home will be a bonus .
