Surprising how much his confidence changes from one match to the next. He was one of the stand out players against Villa yet last night he seemed nowhere near that confidence level…

He is just gone at the game, its all too quick for him. He is terrible, nothing rolls for him and whenever it matters he fluffs his lines.
Not after timing i thought he was a great signing, but he is nowhere near this level anymore, probably a few more seasons in an easier (less salary) league. 29 fror a winger is old though I suppose

Even last night he was trying to score a belter from 25 yards out but stuck it well off into the back of the stand

If he was lacking confidence I don’t think he would have tried that.

I think it’s simply a case of he’s not as good as he once was.

Someone said recently (think it was llan bluebird but apologies if wrong) that his brain was telling him to do things that he can't do anymore.

Sadly I think that's true.

Those months he has where he was out of football, which wasn't his fault, have really taken their toll it seems.

I said it as well, adding that he was past it & got told that he's only 29 which surprised me but it's more to do with his time out of the as you have said. You can see what he's thinking but his brain is writing checks his body can't cash anymore but we do still see it very occasionally.
