" No shame in that "

Sat Mar 08, 2025 4:54 pm

No shame in a narrow defeat today, Sunderland are 4th in the league for a reason.

I thought we started with too many attacking players and really struggled for the first half an hour.

Good play by Salech and Davies for our goals. Salech MOTM for me.

We caused them problems at times which is a source for optimism.

Tuesday is the important game. Most results have gone for us today but we still need to win that game - don't think a draw will cut it this time.

He cost us that game with his substitutions unfortunately.

Re: " No shame in that "

No shame in it may be right but find it hard yo understand when in contr of game or not looking like losing he goes to a 3 at back and drops everyone deeper with Salech on his own upfront? We lost momentum from that point onwards....whilst the free kick was a joke the defending was a bigger joke! Defender had one player to mark he was 3yrds away from him guess what ball was passed to him result couldn't stop him or cross into middle and as normal player on own with two city players equal distance from hom 2yrds out open goal lost count how many times said that this season... question for riza why go deep defending when there is no need to like today and numerous other games? It makes no sense and hasn't done so all season so he's not learning anything about the teams ability to defend. :banghead:

Re: " No shame in that "

Sat Mar 08, 2025 5:18 pm

Our attack is stronger than our defense why can’t riza see that? Play to your strengths simple.

Re: " No shame in that "

Sat Mar 08, 2025 5:19 pm

No shame in it but really not good enough. It just feels like guaranteed defeat when we play the top 6. Are we really that bad we can't fight for a point? It piles on the pressure for Tuesday now and we can easily lose that.

Ned he does it every time we get back into a game .... today after we scored we never looked like losing but then he brings on subs no problem with that but it is a problem when he unessasarly changes tactics and starts defending deep....riza as only two modes attack or defend we attack when losing we defend when get a goal! It's frustrating as we've seen again today team easily capable of competing against top sides but he or purse ect think players can't ... there's a good coach in there somewhere but needs to be further down league to gain experience because he isn't learning now.

Re: " No shame in that "

Sat Mar 08, 2025 5:43 pm

Sorry didn't see it that way, invited more pressure on when he started making defensive subs second half.

He had many different options on the bench.

He tried to defend the draw and it didn't come off.

Squad wasn't good enough before Jan it definitely is now.

The manager cost us the game again today no doubt about it .
Cost us another game with the lack of trust in his players .
Doesn't give em a chance to win a game .There is shame in the loss a real shame because yet again anyone that can't see we could of won is an idiot.
We are now saying no shame In a loss to Burnley or Sunderland well I'm ashamed both games we could of won and why have are fans become so excepting of defeat.
The way we lost again today is unexpectable

The balance of the team was all wrong after the substitutions not sure the players knew what was happening with the formation changes

100%

Cost us at least a point, maybe 3pts.

I said when he was appointed that he needed an experienced coach to work with him I haven’t changed my mind .Riza is trying to learn how to manage as he goes along in the hardest league there is with poor coaches and advice around him :old: :ayatollah:

If had experience along side him he will do well.... judging by quality of players he's brought in he knows something about football but a bit less about tactics?

There is potentially a good manager in Riza but he needs someone with experience to guide him not the three stooges he has now :old:

Sadly it's what I've come to expect from Monty, Chris.

I have no issue with people disagreeing with me, this is a forum after all. But not so much when people make comments like that which are uncalled for.

Just surprised he hasn't given me or Riza a derogatory nickname like he's done with others in the past.

I dislike the "little ole Cardiff" mindset that has set into the club top to bottom. It was Sunderland not Real Madrid. We are heading for L1 on culture rather than football talent

I am hearing others' opinions, I'm not you.

But I disagree with them and stand by my post from the other day.

My comments aren't ridiculous just because you and the rest of them who never gave Riza a chance think they are.

Thankfully, I've had several PMs from people on here saying they agree with me. Not going to name them because some specifically said that they wouldn't post it publicly because they don't want to have the sort of out of proportion responses I've received.

Ned, I warmed to Monty after some decent off-Forum exchanges but it’s sad to say two things. Firstly, he dishes it out withh some vigour but doesn’t take it back with the same enthusiasm. Secondly, I think he feels he has been elevated with his part in the recent protest march and his (now famous) banner

My understanding is that Monty was one of the catalysts for the march happening and I appreciate that; but the hard work on that was done by other individuals known to us and without whose help said march would not have happened

I sincerely hope that he doesn’t stop posting but as you state elsewhere, that decision lies with him :ayatollah:
