Michael Reindorf has made just three substitute appearances for League 1 Bristol Rovers and hasn't made a matchday squad for a month.

Inigo Calderon has confessed that Michael Reindorf has had a "bad spell" in recent training sessions lately after the Cardiff City loanee was once again left out of Bristol Rovers' matchday squad for Saturday's 5-0 defeat at Lincoln City.

The 19-year-old (20 yrs old in May ) has made just three appearances from the bench since his arrival on deadline day last month and hasn't played since the 2-1 defeat at Northampton Town on February 22. In fact, the striker hasn't made a squad since that afternoon in Northamptonshire.


Calderon has had to deal with a host of injury issues to strikers lately with Promise Omochere now set to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury, Gatlin O'Donkor being sidelined since February 2 and Chris Martin missing two of the last three games with a slight knee issue. Rovers are also set to lose Ruel Sotiriou to international duty with Cyprus this week.

The training sessions have not gone well at all for Reindorf, is it his attitude as the manager has been not even putting him on the bench for Rovers games.

However, despite limited options up front, Reindorf still has found it difficult to get himself on the Gas bench at the very least and this is with your strikers out injured.

So hopefully Reindorf will finally get a chance for the League 1 Side.

The 19 year old Striker made no appearances for Norwich City, so was released and joined Cardiff City where he had made 4 appearances, but they decided to let him go out on to the Gas in January.

Same as Ollie Tanner, I think City needs to have him back, get training with the squad and move him in slowly, hes had a taste elsewhere and it didn't work, he will give it a good go when he returns, I think he may come good.

No disrespect to the lad but bluntly He weren’t as good as people made out,the simple fact he made himself look busy,give the fans a glimmer of hope,after the shit we’d be watching previously, he scored for under 21s,but thats a million miles away from championship level,or efl level,

Could never see the hype looked a headless chicken when given a chance .Ashford supposedly had an attitude but has come on leaps and bounds now he’s taken his chance .I hope I’m proven wrong with Rheindorf and he buckles down and gets a chance to start for Gas but obviously needs to prove himself in training first

I'd keep him and loan him to League Two - was always a bit too soon to send him to League One.

Strikers tend to mature later than other positions. He has showed promise but is just a bit raw.

I think we'd regret it if we let him go too early.

He looked average on occasions playing for U21s.

give the lad a chance get him back involve with the first team see how he gets on from there

I don't remember anyone saying he should be our first-choice striker but lots of people including me were saying he should be given a chance from the bench at some point to see if he could step up & repeat that form in a championship game. He was given the chance from the bench & he couldn't make the step up yet, which mot said at the time, hence the loan. All pretty simple really but I guess that doesn't meet the narrative of some people.
