Freedman will leave the club at the end of the season, it was confirmed last week.
Moody was Palace sporting director until 2014 when he resigned amid the Malky Mackay texting scandal.
Since, he has been working as a football consultant, advising mainly on recruitment and is thought to have maintained a strong relationship with Palace chairman Steve Parish.
