I agree, proper football people the Geordies are. Was there when we got relegated up there and their fans were very good to us to be fair.

A little like people on here when scumsea won it so let's not get all self righteous about it. I was happy to see Newcastle win something after so long though.

I agree with you. when scum town won it very little was said and they won by the biggest margin ever. Now Newcastle have won it it's like they've won the fookin world cup.

I think before - If you won the league cup you got a place in the UEFA Cup back in the day ???

That was the attitude of the ‘Jacks’ when we reached the final; but they soon retracted on that when they got to the same final a few years later (and won)

Still no ‘triangular’ flags at The Library, though!

And a final they would never lose weakest team ever in Bradford of League two , couldn’t make it up not an achievement in my eyes , I would be embarrassed to brag about that

Don’t know why fans call it a Mickey Mouse cup to win its one of the major trophies to win with the fa cup and premier league I was delighted when we got to the final yes we lost but we should have won it if Kenny millar had scored his chance we would have Ben in Europe in the seventies you got to play in the uefa cup if you won it I wish our club could get to another final it would be another cracking day out

I agree; but it was the ‘Jealous Jacks’ who used to infest this Forum who said ‘Mickey Mouse Cup’ when we reached the final to play a decent side in Liverpool

We played in one of the most memorable ‘Mickey Mouse Cup Finals’ ever and I was proud of our club and our supporters on that day. Can the ‘Jacks’ actually say the same?
