Following specialist opinion, Aaron Ramsey has undergone successful hamstring surgery and will miss the rest of the season.

Ramsey will then be out of contract.






Aaron Ramsey has just had another operation and will be out now for the remainder of this season.

Ramsey who will be 35 yrs old this year.

Ramsey on a minimum of £25,000 Basic plus Bonuses

In the 2 seasons out of 102 Games Ramsey:

Started 13 Games ( many not completed)

Come on as Sub 8 times.


Please Ramsey must not be offered a New Contract:

Time for him to put his coaching badges to use ,been a great player now time to head up our younger player pathways

We need to be using the wages on players that can impact the team for more than 2 games.

The only way he should stay is on a pay as you play contract.

Great player, but his body is done.

There is real doubt for me he would be ready for next season. Isaac Davies had surgery and was out for ages and he’s a young man. Rambo will want to carry on because of Wales possibly playing in the World Cup. But we cannot keep paying his big salary when he doesn’t play. Pay per play would be acceptable. However, we have Chambers, Robertson, Turnbull and the 2 Colwills already there plus another player possibly. Bit sad but we must move on. The young players that have come through must be given the opportunity to strive forward.

Such a shame, a really talented player in his prime, but unfortunately his days as a Cardiff City player are all but over, on good wages which could be put in use for other players next season, pay as you play or a coaching role for the youngsters should be the only option for him next season.

I agree, this has to stop now. He just can't play games anymore.

It's a shame because he was a top class player.

Offer him a coaching role but he can't have another contract like this one, costing us too much money.

Completely agree.

He isn’t up to it physically anymore, but that doesn’t take away from the career he has had or his previous spells with us.

Couldn't agree more.

Most, if not all have said that it's time to hang up his playing boots & move into some sort of coaching role on another thread but that post is beyond ridiculous, it's disrespectful to a once great player. He wanted to finish his career where he started & help us when he could have gone just about anywhere else in this division as well as a lot of PL teams. It didn't work out like he & most of us would have hoped, time for us to move on & not make such ridiculous statements.

Totally agree, that sort of comment is uncalled for.

It's not his fault that these injuries have caught up with him. He's had a brilliant career and I hope we offer him a coaching role.

Would also add that all of us were delighted when he signed, so can't really call it a bad decision by the club when we all supported it.

It just hasn't worked out.

Agree. Asking for him to make a public apology for his injuries is ridiculous and laughable.

On the other hand it would be madness to offer him a new contract.

I am so sad for Ramsey and am hopeful that he can navigate the transition between a player and a coach - I think he may make a good coach.

I think putting him on for wales last September was a very stupid call. Should never have been put on and shouldn’t have put himself on in those conditions. Especially as there was no reason to put him on.
We as a club took a punt on his fitness. Sadly it didn’t work out. Nothing more, nothing less.
Loves his hometown club and hope he can contribute in other ways. But it’s time to hang up the boots now. Before he does even further damage to his body.

Correct.

Cardiff, Arsenal, Juventus, Nice, back to Cardiff - he's done it all.

I'm proud he came from our club and hold zero grudges that this didn't work out.

I hope he can stay as a coach because he is a club legend.

We did the same with Robbie Fowler.

The difference with Fowler and Ramsey is Fowler had no connection to City and did come for a last pay packet whereas Ramsey started his playing career with City he wanted to come back to City to get his fitness up after his terrible broken leg, and he came back to City because he wanted to help his hometown club get to the Premier League. Unfortunately his injuries have badly hampered his playing time but you can't compare him with Robbie Fowler who had no connection to City

Gwyn Rodent should give Ramsey and the entire city fan base a public apology out of order that. All the best Rambo
