Callum O'Dowda has signed a New Contract, penning a three-year extension which will now see his stint in the Welsh capital continue until 2028.
Apparently Hull City 2pts above City showed an interest in O’Dowda in January, but No offer was made.
O’Dowda who is 30 years old next month, said after signing new terms:
“I'm delighted. I think everyone can tell how much I've loved this city and representing the club over the past two and a half years. I'm really happy to get it over the line and kick on now.”
"Coming to Cardiff City, it was a time in my career that revived everything for me. I'd say the love for the game and coming to a city like this, it brought it all back for me."

Good player for us but needs to stay injury free a bit more.

Always gives 100% and cares about the club. Win, lose or draw always comes over to the fans end of a game. Wasted as a defender imo.

I like ODowda, not sure that a 3 year contract is the best thing here though.

See I do agree with you.
I like him, but I know he carries quite a few small nigling injuries now.
3 years NO
He won’t be playing a full season every year.

Correct Annis and if we are moving towards a younger profile with signings like they say, how much game time or impact will ODowda have in 2 years time?
I’m hoping that his salary is a bit lower than what it was in his new contract, as he will play less of a role in the coming years

With you 100% on this Matty.
That’s why I am not sure I believe the Hierarchy are going for a young side like Sunderland have.

Happy to see him sign on but personally would have given him 2 years maximum

Good player who will always put in the effort when he plays, despite his injuries.
Deserves a new contract but two years is what should have been offered. Three years seems too much for his age and injury record.

Good stuff.. future captain..with us building a younger squad we need an older head amongst them.. a role model of giving 100%

Great player for us but as other have said, injury prone.
Don’t think hes a natural defender so hope he plays further forward.
But be surprised if we get 25 games a season from him.
Brilliant if we do
Glad he’s staying !

Give him 2yrs and he says no people will say why not give him 3? Question as to be is he worth a contract if yes and given he's a 1st team player 3 yrs nothing wrong with it... it also gives him a bit of value if want to sell him?

I thought this was released back in January?

Agree, some people are never happy on here.
No odds to me if he gets 2 or 3 years.
He always gives 100% unlike some.
