“ Joe Ralls Future in Doubt “

Watch Riza will blame pre-season Friendlies:

Cardiff City captain Joe Ralls might have played his final game for the club after sustaining an injury that could rule him out for the rest of the season.

The 31-year-old midfielder missed Saturday's 1-1 Championship draw against Sheffield Wednesday with a calf problem, which could keep him sidelined for a month.

And with his contract expiring at the end of this season, Ralls' 15-year association with Cardiff could come to an end this summer.

"He hurt his calf so he'll be out for three or four weeks. He probably won't feature again this season," said Bluebirds manager Omer Riza.
"But he'll feature in other ways. He'll be around the group. He's a leader and we need that especially.
"If he comes back quicker than that then great, but if he doesn't, then you can't force it."

Yes, I think it could be 'thanks and goodbye' to Joe.
I don't think he's got much left in the tank to benefit Cardiff.
He's been a fine player for us over the years but surely his time at the club is now over.

We might be very grateful to have him in League 1 next season.

He's 31 and plays in a combative way.

Because he's had injury issues and his age, it's difficult for him to carry on playing like that.

He's been a brilliant player for the club over many years but there always comes a time for a player to move on and this might be it for Joe Ralls.

It's probably a bit soon for him to retire because his injuries haven't been as bad as Aaron Ramsey's, so offering him a role behind the scenes may not be an option.

Football is a ruthless business and it may be that Ralls' time at the club is over - for now at least.

A great servant for us and the longest. But sadly he is not what he used to be in terms of the quality he gives to the team. Alongside Aaron Ramsey who is always an inury risk with his age. He might want to play for cardiff but sadly its out of his hands in terms of his contract. I think he would benefit by dipping into the world of coaching and do what bellamy did and earn his badges and then who knows maybe 5 to 10 years from now he might come back and manage cardiff.
