Form table

Sat Mar 29, 2025 8:15 pm

This is showing why so many fans are concerned.

Over the last five games, we rank 20th in the form table with four points.

That wouldn't be an issue if the teams in the bottom three were also struggling for points. Plymouth also only have four points in their last five games.

But the problem is Derby and Luton are picking up points.

Derby have nine points in their last five and Luton have ten.

So we're struggling for points but the two directly below us are finding form.

That is a huge concern.

Take it over the last 10 games and we are 22nd. It's horrific and we deserve to go down. Interestingly the two teams below us are QPR and Oxford who we still have to play.

Whilst it looks bad like say we have to play two teams Oxford and Stoke around us plus everyone
Around us play each other once or twice aswell? Plenty to play for but no consistency to get the 3 wins we need ...Swansea not safe got good draw @ Leeds today but got Burnley next so if we can manage something positive next two games they could conceivably be around bottom 3 same with any club 6 points above us... so near so far..

My worry is we've won 5 from 25 games I think we now need to win 3 from 7 games that's gonna need a decent upturn in wins to games ratio

With those stats it doesn't look good but I do think we can pick points up against most sides we have to play. We do need to beat Oxford and Stoke. I think we will beat the drop.

The Oxford game is looking crucial. If we can get 3 points against Oxford we should finish above them as they have top play Sheff Utd, Leeds and Sunderland at home. Plymouth we can forget about because if they catch us we are going down anyway. Then its between us, Derby, Luton and Stoke for that final place. The only fly in the ointment on the above scenario is that Oxford may be going into the last game needing to win to stand a chance of staying up and possibly send us down instead. And guess who they are playing?

Stoke and Oxford are both looking at Cardiff as a game they can win.

Oxford are very weird. They are only losing by a goal when they lose or drawing. Fans aren’t happy with Rowett even with the start he had which put Oxford mid table for a while.

I don't see Oxford going down. I did at the start of the season, but don't now.

When they need to get a couple of results, they seem to find a way.

They'll fancy their chances in the games away against us, home to QPR and away at Sheffield Wednesday (Wednesday are much better away from home than at home).

Think they'll be fine, without having watched them play that much obviously.

They are struggling to score from open play. Had two really good chances against Boro and missed both. Seem very nervous in the forward areas.

Ciaran Brown is rumoured to be attracting attention from higher up. Didn’t see that one coming when he was at Cardiff.

We need at least 3 wins and a draw, we have won 5 in 26 games prior so far.

It's going to be quite a turnaround, I just don't have the faith in Riza's tactical ability to do it, even if we do it will be in despite not cos of him.

As I have been going on and on this season ( and others ) - In this League 5-6 games unbeaten in a row gets you up the table .
Also said this back in Oct / Nov - We need to sort out our goal difference :o
