OMER RIZA QUESTIONS HIS PLAYERS MENTALITY?

Cardiff City manager Omer Riza questioned his players' mentality after their deflating draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

The draw leaves the Bluebirds just two points clear of the Championship relegation zone, though they will drop into the bottom three on Wednesday night if Derby County win their game in hand against Preston North End.


"It just seems to be an element of a mental thing with these boys," Riza said after the draw at Cardiff City Stadium.


"They didn't apply enough pressure in the second half. They sat and allowed them to have a bit more time in the midfield areas, which put us on the back foot, which was disappointing.”

"It's those moments in games, our players feel, maybe it's a subconscious thing, they knew how important the three points are and it's a natural thing we are doing."

Cardiff have not played in the third tier of English football since 2003 but are perilously close to doing so next season.
This is the third campaign out of four in which they have battled against relegation in the Championship.

Riza's side have seven games to save themselves, starting with next Saturday's trip to Queens Park Rangers.

"They [players] are going to be frustrated and disappointed," the manager added.
"But we have 90 minutes to get the job done and we haven't done that We can't find excuses, we have to find solutions.
"We've spoken about it [mentality] a lot. Until you're in this position you can never understand how difficult it is for them on the pitch. You have to keep plugging away and look to QPR on the weekend."

One point in the last three home games, Riza says he's happy with this squad.

He's made a habit recently of throwing the players under the bus after a bad result.

1 have been feeling all season if we are where we are at this time of the season we will go down and that is due to the mentality we have been playing with all season.

We are now in the business end of the season ertr trams will grind out a result. We have not shown that all season so what makes us think we will start doing that now? Today we played well and should have won the game but we did not show the desire to make sure of the win or when we lost our lead there was very little determination to regain it.

I'm hoping if we do manage to play like that we might be lucky to get those points to keep us up. The next few games will tell us if we have that desire and determination to do it.

Maybe it's the coaching skills that should be questioned resulting in the poor player mentality.
The stats always suggested a Wednesday come-back and the Cardiff management acted too late when the tide was turning.

Barry Bannan always approaches matches this way.
Most fans following Championship football know this.
Unfortunately our coaching team and current management ignored the fact!

Unless all cogs are turning it doesn't run smoothly.
It hasn't run smoothly all season and riza just can't run it properly. He had good additions in January but the chai n keeps coming off .
He is totally inept not a championship manager nowhere near it .
Said it for ages now we are down I think we have enough to stay up but he can't get the points needed

What they really mean is, they are all as bad as each other and they can all go as well.

Watching it second half thought give it five mins then manager will change the systemas you could see they had changed there system in midfield to suit, ten mins later still nothing it then continued and we know the rest. It's nothing new though is it after going a goal up sadly.

Man man the bloke and f**k whatever else is going on around then. He's out of his depth and that's why we are where we are after losing loads of leads so many times this season because of this.
