A forum for all things Cardiff City

I constantly get the impression from reading comments on here that some believe they are the only genuine fans, the rest are just playing at being fans.
I’ve been watching City for 41 years, many with season tickets and many without depending on my family life etc etc. I’ve been to 1 game this season, mainly again due to family life but also because it’s a hard watch. I think I’ve probably managed to watch 90% on IPTV.
I also didn’t attend the protest, not because I didn’t agree with it, but because I didn’t and still don’t think that anything we do as fans will influence Tan.
So my question is, do I still class as a real fan or am just playing at being a fan?

Of course you are a fan. You care about the club, you have seen the vast majority of Cardiff City games this season and no doubt the first result you look for if you can't see the game is that involving the Bluebirds. It's in your blood /0\

Problem is, Pre Sam Hammam times, schools were full of bin dippers, Utd fas, leeds etc. Then Hammam came along and the glory days came and they all became 'cardiff fans' - I saw it school . no-one in my class was a Cardiff fan, yet I look on social media - they are all 'cardiff fans' - Which is great!! .... but .... they are slowley losing intrest because the type of football and where we are heading is back to pre hammam.
Loads of plastics everywhere!!

Someone who supports Cardiff City; self defined.
End of topic.

A ‘
supporter’ who pays to go watch and contribute to the finances of a club
A ‘
fan’ can watch from an armchair and watch from afar without financial contribution, i. e. most who follow ManUre, Liverpool, Leeds, etc.

If you care about the club and want them to win, you're a fan in my view.
A supporter is someone who regularly goes to games.
But I do find it odd when some say they've gone to every game in the season as if they deserve some sort of loyalty badge.
Well done to those who do go to 46 games a season but that doesn't suit others. I can't do that many for logistical and financial reasons.
Don't like the point scoring between fans sometimes. No fan is more valuable than another.

If you feel bloody miserable and in a foul mood that you just can’t shake all weekend, then yes you’re a City fan.

Correct Ned,
And you hurt when your club losses and you rant and say mad things you normally would not say.

So all very positive replies, so what is a “Plastic” fan and why would it be used as a negative?

Smugness from people who are closed minded. It's the nature of success in football; all over the world.

A plastic fan would watch Cardiff in the Premier League but not in the lower leagues.

When it occupies probably to much of your headspace and ruins your mood when things go bad! Currently a daily basis!
When you leap 4 rows and clatter into people and cut your leg when Chopra bags a late winner against the Jerks
When you doodle new designs for a new City strip at work when your bored in a meeting
When you wear a City shirt on a day out in Jackland
When you spend the entire match in a police van in Burnley for refusing to stop waving your shirt above your head
Attending pre season expensive away days
Protest marches
Recording a song for the cup final
Digging up and taking home Ninian Park turf
Trying to start new chants (I still hope one day we will all start singing 'we dont give a f**k about anybody else' on repeat -SFA 'The Man Dont Give A f**k (Robin Friday))
Buying cheap overpriced crap from the club shop
Stuff that like really!
