Don't normally go for the ones at relatively low odds, but Iroko at 8/1 is the one that stands out to me.

Should have a decent chance but this race is often a lottery in terms of guessing who will win.

Henry De Bromhead often does well at Cheltenham and Aintree and he has Mirella Indo running again this year - He finished 3rd last year

My only concern is that at 12 years old he is a bit older than the average age of winners

TIPS FOR THE NATIONAL

Well not so much Tips just some useful information.

Odds of Winner
Since 2017, with the exception of 2022, all the winners were 14/1 or lower - so I will be concentrating on this selection.

Number of Runners
The lower the number of runners the more room horses have to jump and therefore the more chance of horses completing the course.
I expect a low price winner today

Days since last run
On the whole the winner will have run within the last 60 days

Weight Carried by Horse
Since 2016 all the winners, bar 2 years, were carrying less than 11 stone. Those 2 years were 11.5 and 11.6.
So I am not expecting a winner to be carrying more than 11.6 and that includes I am Maximus

So that leaves me with
I am Maximus (6/1) - Discounted - too heavy at 11.12 and 63 days since last run
Stumptown (7/1) - Possible - 11.2 and 24 days
Hewick (15/2) - Discounted - too heavy at 11.7
Iroko (15/2) - Good Candidate 10.11 and 35 days
Vanillier (8/1) - Good Candidate 10.6 and 24 days
Intense Raffles (8/1) - Good Candidate 10.10 and 42 days
Percival Legoilles (10/1) - Discounted borderline heavy and 63 days
Minella Coccona (12/1) - Discounted 11.2
Kandoo Kid (14/1) - Good Candidate 10.11 and 35 days

Of these I fancy either Iroko or Kandoo Kid
