Omer Riza:

“it's been a bit of a mixed bag to get the team selection right due to having players missing.”

“To get that balance right and to get those connections. It's been frustration. You see one half looking one way and one half looking the other way. You go into a game and sometimes players are nervous about the situation - we don't talk about it outwardly, but sometimes there are those moments.”

"We are going to have to put it all together to get those results we are looking for. Stoke is a very important game."

Omer Riza: “I don’t like to be called the Tinkerman.”

“We keep getting injuries, players making individual mistakes, performances not up to it.”

“ So thats what they call The Tinkerman is it? I don’t like to be labelled that but it is what it is," he added. "I’d like to have a stable back four I don’t need to change, or a back five depending what we need to do, but predominantly a four.”

“But if it’s performance-based or mistakes as individuals or a team or injuries… When I have put out a sustained team of the same XI, we’ve blown up and I’ve had to make changes.”

Omer Riza:

"We've got five more massive games," Omer began. "This one, especially is a very, very big game.

"I think the importance of the point against Preston North End the other day was huge, especially considering the results of others in midweek.

"We are fighting. The boys and the staff know how much it means and we're fully focused on the job ahead. We go into this game and we'll be ready."

Omer Riza:

"Stoke have been quite similar to us, really. They've been a little inconsistent at times. You're starting to see a bit more of Mark Robins' style come out in the team now. We've been watching and analysing them and you can see those moments and elements.

"We're aware of them and we know how we need to play against them."

CARDIFF FANS AWAY AT PRESTON BOOED RIZA AND THE PLAYERS OFF AT H/T AND F/T :

Omer Riza:

When asked about the travelling supporters' frustration, Riza said: "We can't control how the fans feel. I think the only thing that will make the fans happy at the minute is picking up three points and obviously the first-half performance wasn't good enough.”

“I understand worrying about what you can control, not what you can’t, but you can DIRECTLY control how the fans feel, Omar. GET THE PLAYERS TO FIGHT FOR THIS LEAGUE.”

“Supporters don’t boo if they can see fight.”

“That goes to the players too. If there’s a vacuum of leadership at the club, specifically in the dressing room, senior leadership players should play a bigger part.”

“ Players can and should still fight, even if they don’t like the system or position they’re being played in.”

"Ollie Tanner is still training towards getting fully fit. Ollie has been getting frustrated because he wants to play. He gets disappointed in himself. But he's still getting back to where he was before the injury.

"The boys that came on in the game the other day were really impactful, which is pleasing to see. Everyone wants to play their part for this Club and that togetherness is great to see.”

Re: OMER RIZA:

Stoke City’s manager is Mark Robins, who was appointed in January this year following the departure of Narcís Pèlach.

In his playing career, he came through the Manchester United academy and went on to represent the Red Devils as well as the likes of Leicester City and Norwich City. His first taste of management came at Rotherham United, before going on to take charge at Barnsley.

Robins is most well-known for his two spells at Coventry City. His first reign at the club began in 2012; he took over the Sky Blues sat 23rd in League One and changed the side's fortunes, picking up 44 points from 24 league games which prompted Championship outfit Huddersfield Town to bring him in.

The English manager had subsequent stints with the Terriers and Scunthorpe United before returning to the West Midlands for his second spell in charge of the Sky Blues.

Coventry City were propelled from League Two to the Championship under Robins' management and reached the Play-Off Final and Emirates FA Cup semi-final with the Lancashire born boss at the helm.

Since joining the Potters midway through the current campaign, Robins has achieved a win percentage of 27.78%, winning five times, drawing six and losing seven.

Stoke City head into this weekend’s contest sat 20th in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Potters have struggled for stability this season, with both Pèlach and Steven Schumacher being relieved of their duties during the course of the campaign.

Stoke have underperformed on the road this term, picking up just 14 of their 44 points away from home, but have enjoyed a recent run of positive form by going unbeaten in their last three matches.

Last time out, the Potters were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Luton Town. Lewis Baker gave the hosts the lead in the 74th minute but the Hatters managed to snatch a point at the death when Millenic Alli equalised in injury time.

What twaddle. He said the players against Preston didn’t listen to him. What does that tell you about his management? Imagine the players not doing what Malky or Warnock said to do. The would be out if the door the next day.

To be honest, I don’t listen to Riza’s interviews anymore. They have more holes than our leaky defence; and that’s going some!
