" 2024/25 Player of the Season voting open "

Fri Apr 11, 2025 5:12 pm

Voting is now open for Bluebirds to select their Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign.

The Award will be presented at our 2025 Awards Evening on Saturday, April 26th.

There are six City players to choose from, and your votes alone will determine the winner! Read through our shortlist and then cast your vote here - https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/pl ... g-now-open

I've also included a poll on this forum to see who people have voted for.

Voting closes at midday on Thursday, April 17th.

Player of the Season nominees

Calum Chambers

Calum has been a mainstay in the City side since joining the Bluebirds in the summer transfer window.

Having started the season in central defence before a productive move into midfield, Chambers has featured in 36 league matches so far this term.

The 30-year-old has also contributed with an assist and two goals - a spectacular strike away at Middlesbrough and a clinical finish at home to Luton Town.

Dimitrios Goutas

Now in his second season as a Bluebird, Dimi has made 34 Championship appearances for the Club this season.

After providing an assist for Callum Robinson in our October win over Portsmouth, the Greek international wrote his name into the City history books by scoring a powerful header in the 3-0 South Wales derby victory back in January.

A commanding presence in the heart of defence, Goutas has helped the Bluebirds keep five clean sheets during the campaign.

Callum O'Dowda

Having missed most of the 2023/24 campaign through injury, Callum O'Dowda has been a consistent performer in 2024/25.

The versatile man has featured at left wing, wing back and left back during the campaign, appearing 37 times in the Championship so far.

The Republic of Ireland international, who has worn the captains armband in recent weeks, has contributed with two goals and two assists, including a memorable stoppage time winner against Norwich City back in November.

Andy Rinomhota

Another versatile option in the City squad, Andy has played predominantly at right back this term, taking to his new position with ease.

Appearing 27 times in the league this season, the Zimbabwe international has certainly found his feet in an unnatural role, offering consistent defensive displays on a regular basis.

He also has one assist to his name, crossing for Callum O'Dowda to head home away at Fratton Park in February.

Callum Robinson

Our top scorer this season, Robbo has found the back of the net on 12 occasions during his 33 league apperarances in 2024/25.

The striker got off the mark for the campaign in our 1-1 South Wales derby draw in August, creating further history in that fixture with a memorable brace and MOTM performance in the 3-0 CCS January win.

Callum has also struck key goals against Hull City, Derby County, Watford and Norwich City this term, helping the Bluebirds record several vital victories.

Yousef Salech

Signed in January, Yousef has made an instant impact here in South Wales. The striker has scored five Championship goals in 15 games, with an additional strike in the Emirates FA Cup.

The 23-year-old announced himself to City fans with a stoppage time leveller away at Millwall, before securing another late point against Bristol City at CCS.

Salech has also scored valuable goals against Plymouth Argyle and Blackburn Rovers, as well as breaking Burnley's run of 12 consecutive clean sheets.

It's between O'Dowda and Rinomhota for me.

Voted for Rinomhota.

It has to be Robbo, without his goals we’d already be down.

Rino.

A player who wasn’t even near our team who came in when needed and proved he was good enough.

Robbo has scored important goals, but since his new contract has been a lazy b*stard who hasn’t looked interested

My feeling too mate.

If all the players had Rhinos attitude we'd be challenging for the play offs not fighting for survival.

Also agree with that.

Wouldn't hesitate to offer Rinomhota a new contract, gives his all and seems to be a good person to have around the club.

He's saved us in a way as we had little other options in that position after Ng's performance levels dropped.

Definitely no harm in keeping him for another year or two.

Surprised not to see Kanga on the shortlist.

There's no single outstanding player for me over the course of the season.

Rino is standing out by showing desire and OK performances; what a grim measure of success. Also part of a terrible defence, says alot about this season!

Salech gets my vote. Used his minutes the best.
