Season Ticket Question?

Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:36 pm

I have asked this before about whether the club get all the money for the season tickets upfront or as and when we pay, and was told the club get it all up front ie the full 3 Million.

However check the 'Customer Declaration' on the form it clearly says:

c) I hereby authorise you to pay the initial amount to the football club on or after the date of this agreement

bearing in mind this form/agreement is just for the 10/11 season so the initial amount is not the '1st season' amount do the club definately get the full season money up front?

Sorry to ask again

The initial amount is the amount you are lending e.g. £329 for a Canton Stand ST not the FULL amount which includes interest.

It's interest free?

What got me thinking was the fact that Zebra finance promised to accepted all applications, therefore if I didn't care about my credit rating I could take the finance option, cancel the DD, and the club would have no incentive to cancel by ST as they had already had the money?

Repeat x 5 for free season tickets for the next 5 years...

I'm under the impression that the club are taking a hit on the interest free payments. Not sure how much but based on the 10 month option its around £30 per ticket i.e. £299 instead of £329. That would be the intial amount forwarded to the club as soon as you return the credit agreement.

BTW yes you are correct. It would be possible for you to take out the finance option cancel the DD and have a free season ticket. You would be entered onto a credit blacklist, but if you are on there any way it doesn't matter and its highly unlikely you would receive any other sanction.

That said Zebra Finance would almost certainly NOT lend you money to do the same next year.

Cheers Tony,

I work for a bank, so I wouldn't be doing it myself!

However we dont make the statement 'acceptance guaranteed', we only lend according to risk.

The fact that Zebra said guaranteed and that it was in 5 installments all due before the beginning of next season made me think that they could cancel it, obviously they couldn't do this if they had already given all the money to CCFC as CCFC would have no incentive to cancel it for them.

Jon, I was amazed when Ridsdale announced that anyone would be accepted and I honestly believe it to be bullshit.

However despite having an appauling credit history Zebra accepted my application for TWO season tickets without any fuss whatsoever. (BTW I'm being a good boy this time just paid my second installment  )

Finally you don't have to dig around the internet much to find that although Zebra Finance have an office based on an industrial estate in Derby their headquarters in LEEDS!

Putting 2 and 2 together you have to come up with another Ridsdale connection, although this time I'm not complaining.
