NON EU Visas - QPR players

Just on Newsnight on TV now, talking about non-EU immigrants.
It then showed QPRs ground and stated they have 4 non EU players playing for them. Apparently football league players are exempt.

Apparently they dont get vetted as much when coming to play football in the UK.
Their visas will be approved straight away to play for a football league club.

I thought the FA only sanctioned Non-EU players who had a load of international caps for their country. I assume this is the case with the QPR players.
