ADICE FIXED PENALTY FINE

Sun Nov 07, 2010 4:13 pm

Not only absolutely gutted by our performance but even angrier with the FP notice I received under offence code 142 unnecessary obstruction. I was parked on the first big roundabout near the Asda store but in a lay by with no markings or sign. I normally park under the bridge at the bottom of Leckwith Hill but a lorry driver advised me not to park there because he said they would be towing vehicles away from there today (turns out I would have been ok). Anyway I was approaching the roundabout with the intention of parking in Hadfield rd but I noticed a car in the lay by so parked there and spoke to the driver of the car who told me he always parks there because it is a bay with no markings.

Now I don't mind paying a fine if I'm flouting the law but can any legal eagle tell me if I was commiting an offence (further around the roundabout there were cars in all the other bays with no tickets) and should I just pay up without a protest.

Thanks in advance

Im not sure where you stand with that, If it was a private company you could ignore it. I think you might have to pay up.

Wait for them to contact you and deny any knowledge of a ticket.
Query that your registration might have been cloned.

Aparently there were over 400 tickets dished out today by the police. I have parked down by Fitzalan school for over 30 years and today was my first parking fine! Suffice to say I, along with at least 50 others threw them away when we saw them. I urge everyone to refuse to pay, they are just trying bit on, they cannot chase 400 parking fines surely! :ayatollah:
Franky did warn us over 3 months ago!

If you was in a lay by and there was no signs i would query this. Where exactly is the offence.
Go to your Police station and ask them if you was to park in a lay by and there was no signs for restrictions is there any parking offences committed. If they say no say why did you give me this b*stard then. :ayatollah:

I was parked in Hadfield Close, off Hadfield road in a place I always park for every home game and I along with dozens of others had one issued there too. Its a bit cynical to say the least issuing them on a day like Sunday when its such a big game, but obviously money is more important. The City council have obviously made the decision to employ CEO's (traffic wardens) on this Sunday with that in mind!
