Hudson

Mon Nov 08, 2010 8:28 am

Just plucked up the courage to watch the re-run and the only positives to come out are the performances of SuperKev and, surprisingly, Hudson.

The last 4-5 games Hudson certainly seems to have got his act together. His distribution is pretty good and he's intercepting the ball more ensuring he's doesn't get exposed for his lack of pace. I don't think the pairing with Gypes works as neither have any pace, but put Blake or the long lost Riggott alongside him and we've got the makings of a partnership that should be good enough to take us up or at least get us to the January window.

He does seem to be the scapegoat for most things bad with our team but at the moment that isn't warranted and fair play to the guy, he's taken some fearful abuse but has never hidden. Compare his performance yesterday to some of our "big guns" and some of those need to take a good look at themselves.

I think praising him that much is a bit of an exaggeration. I haven't minded Hudson this season but yesterday he looked a lot better than he was because others were so poor. I still think in January we need a new left back and two centre backs if we're to get promoted.

Totally agree with you mate, Gabor Gypes is our weak link. I think a tortoise has more pace than him

And milk turns quicker than Hudson as well! :)

Hudson did play a lot better yesterday, although I think he thought he was playing rugby at one point in the first half, as he booted a hell of an up and under, which put us under pressure! :ayatollah:

You've clearly forgotten Hudson's error in passing to a Coventry player, that led to their equaliser 4 games ago and the cock up he made against Norwich 2 games ago, which should have led to them pulling one goal back, just before they did in any case! ;) :) :ayatollah:

They're both slow, but IMO, Gyepes is the more consistent and unless Riggott is going to be fit before long, then I'd like Darcy to play behind Gyepes, as Hudson doesn't provide the level of cover behind the rest of the back four, that Darcy can and did for us during our run in last season! :ayatollah:

Hard to disagree with that, as none of our players stepped up to the plate yesterday!

I still think that Hudson is too inconsistent though and lacks leadership qualities on the pitch! :ayatollah:

Can't believe i'm saying this - but agree!

I am not a Huson fan and I did fear our defensive would be the weak link yesterday - but he played well and the Jackls never really opened us up.

It was actually our strikeforce due to players dropped and formation picked that let us down, not what i thought was going to saying!!

Personally i think we have the best Rightback in the league which only highlights how slow and inept the rest of our defence is. McNaughton, on his day is quality (did well yesterday - and showed alot of passion and determination) shame it didnt rub off on the other players.... :(
