Move DJ upstairs ?

Mon Nov 08, 2010 1:30 pm

Having had 24 hours for the pain to ease and to read various postings on here, one thing is clear, and that is a lot of people are unhappy with DJ. I agree, yet again in a big game his lack of tactical nous has cost us. We seen it in the FA Cup Final when he left Ramsey on the bench, we seen it in the Play-Off Final after we went 3-2 down and Jay had gone off injured and his plan B was to stick to plan A and we saw it again yesterday with his strange decisions to leave our most attacking player on the bench and play someone who hasn't kicked a ball in anger in 2 months, play a different formation and play our best striker in a wide position. There were 25000 of us yesterday who could see Drinkie wasn't up to it, his 2nd touch was a tackle every time, yet DJ persevered with him for 75 mins. I don't blame Drinkwater, the fact is he just wasn't match fit and should never have started.

I think it would be a good move if VT moved DJ upstairs and left him to deal with transfers and contract negotiations and brought in a first team coach with a lot more tactical awareness than DJ. To be fair to DJ you can't knock him for his dealings in the transfer market he has brought some quality to the club and I feel that a position upstairs dealing solely with side of the things would be a good move. :ayatollah:

Not uncriticval in many cases I think he got things wrong yesterday, but I am still happy with him.

He wood demand pretty much the same wage, if not higher, that would mean extra wages for a new manager, it would be pretty pointless tbh :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
