because if they put money in, got a man on the board and looked to actively take an interest then this tax bill would have been small change to them

If the Malaysians are still there, they are playing a very canny game and have used the Riddler right the way through the game.

They have strung him along, made promises, seen the Riddler become totally reliant on their proposed investment and now that it is begining to implode they will be ready to step in and pick the club up for a song.

That's of course if the Malysians really do exist and are not a figment of Ridsdales furtive imagination.
