Today's statement on the club's official website regarding the ongoing tax situation is nothing short of a joke. It confirms what many of us have believed all along, ie: that the club's current board of directors think the supporters are mugs.

According to the statement, HMRC have booked a "backstop date" to return to court if the club hasn't paid its outstanding tax bill by the end of January.

That is nothing more than a barefaced lie.

The simple fact of the matter is that HMRC issued a second winding-up order on December 23rd as a result of the club's failure to pay HMRC the agreed installments from a schedule that was drawn up in mid-November. The situation is no more complicated than that.

This latest communication from the board really is a disgrace.

What have I got wrong and when have I been taken in by him?

I've stated how good Ridsdale is at dealing with crowds and I've been upbeat about the club's off-field prospects because of information I've been getting from elsewhere about the Malaysian interest. That information did not come from Ridsdale and had nothing to do with him.
