Been murmurings about this for some time, wonder if it is PR spin again, or if it carries some truth. All I hope is it doesn't force the price up. Can't see how it would given the gravity of our finances, certainly not substantially anyway, but the more it costs for prospective investors to buy the club, the less disposable funds they have to clear the debts and invest in the club. While the benefits to the club outweigh anything, the added bonus of Peter not picking up enough money from his shares to clear his personal tax issue would be quite a bonus to some. Hopefully that man never runs a football club or any business again, he's very, very dangerous.

I suspect it is as you say i.e Ridsdale trying to bump the price up. A dangerous game to be playing in our current precarious fianacial situation.

If you remember back in September Ridsdale said he had 'received' an offer from American investors for the club. He explained he rejected it because the 'figures' didn't work out.

The quote in that story is the Americans are offering £40m, £23m for debt and £17m to buy out existing shareholders. That values the shares at 41p each. So either the Americans have returned with a better offer, or this was the offer Ridsdale rejected but has now decided to accept.

More bullshit as he precariously tries to hang on to his position.
note the sentence where it says he is constant contact with the malaysians. they will have nothing to do with him whatsoever regarding the take over because of the inland revenue episode in november.
he told them it was a historic debt and forgot to tell them they were months behind with the current tax.

Also at the Muni meeting PR stated that the deal was OFF with the Americans.

I smell spin and bullshit

I don't doubt PR can pull a stunt, but he certainly had someone with him yesterday. Also Keith Harris (the 'investment guru') seemed very much involved and he has a proven record with American investors.

Call me a cynic Tony but how hard would it be for PR to have someone at his side who the press are told are American investors.

Was Keith Harris there yesterday ?

Seeing as Terry Phillips wrote the story the answer would have to be, not very hard at all.

PS Keith Harris was there sat next to the 'investors'

IHA I think it’s highly unlikely your Email made any difference other than alert the Malaysians first to the tax issue (surly the Malaysians would have found out about the tax issue eventually) although Dobbin is right to comment that us fans shouldn't stick our noses into things we don’t understand without realising there could be possible unforeseen repercussions.

As for being shouted down at the Muni Club, that isn’t actually the full story. You asked Ridsdale a perfectly good question and came armed with the evidence.

Ridsdale answered you with one of his evasive responses (i.e. TG didn’t ask) and you failed to capitalise on that with a good follow up question. Instead you just repeated your original question several times to which Ridsdale just kept giving the same reply.

That’s why you got shouted down. I accept that you weren’t the only one who was slow to pick up on tax issue and the Malaysian’s ignorance of it, but there again we didn’t know you had that potential bombshell at that time.

No - It was a hint of sarcasm

I was totally behind you and agreed with what you said - I was stood about two away from you on the left

He bullshitted you, he bullshitted me when I asked a question at the end about the academy and then further bullshitted me when I approached him at the end about support for a charity fcuking tossser

You are correct Tony, I asked Ridsdale the question, was TG aware of the tax issue at the time you were negotiating investment with him. His reply was "no". I asked him would he like to retract that statement and it was at this point that he began to backslide and at the same time I had a load of verbals from people to my left one of which was one of Ridsdales entourage who entered the muni with him (so I hit a raw nerve there). Yes it distracted me and took my concentration from what I was trying to say, which is a shame. However I think I got my point accross that I believed Ridsdale was lying to the fans and forgot to mention the tax issue during negotiations with TG. It's just a pity at the time not many fans picked up on this, however I think all fans are beginning to wake up now. At the time of the Muni meeting it was a matter of public record that we had tax issues and so I was surprised that nobody else brought up this very important issue with Ridsdale at the meeting. However it may have been in one of the written questions Annis had available for him to answer which incidentally he declined to answer. I also agree with you that my email will not have any bearing on the Malaysians decision to invest or not. They will base that decision on due dilligence like any other prospective investors would.

I apologise Dobbin for missinterpretating your motives  I did not stay much longer after my spat with him because I was so disgusted with his answer - the man is a prick of the highest order in my view.

I was sat just behind you and remember what happened very well. There was a lot of stick coming from our left-hand side I'm not sure if those people were with Ridsdale or not as I didn't pay enough attention when he entered the room.

I fully agree it is a shame you were distracted and that you didn't get support from the audience (including me) who could have been quicker to pick up on his response, which now looks laughable. Unfortunately we are ordinary football fans and not quick minded solicitors or QC's

I still think the episode was worthwhile as it gave a small insight into how people like Ridsdale work. May be next time we'll be better prepared.

I remember that question and PR couldn't have looked more disinterested if he tried.

Amazing if you ask PR for something he turns away and gives it the big ignore.

However, on the other hand if it benefits him you get the first class treatment.

Fellow AAMB poster GarethBluebird got a personal telephone call at home from PR (along with a Happy New Year message) when he contacted Ridsdale about problems he was having getting hold of a Zebra Finance application form.

I can't just imagine him doing that for you after asking for a charity support for local football youth club.

Oh god please don't say that I hope there is never a next time  However I learned a lot about the man that night. His answers confirmed to me he is a person not to be trusted with the reins of our club which is unfortunate because it's there for everyone to see he is a man of high intelligence. Just a pity that his integrity fails to match his intelligence. Well you can't have everything . My main downfall is that my intelligence fails to match my integrity. Maybe that's why I am skint and driving round in a Mondeo  Theres a moral there I cant think of it though

Re: Does this mean the malaysians are gone???

I guess the Malaysian deal is still on, but as they are stalling and trying to buy the club as cheaply as possible, Ridsdale and Keith Harris are trying to generate interest from other parties to create some competition and urgency.

It's a bit like when someone makes an offer on you house and then fecks you about for months, you put it back on the market to hurry them up or sell to someone else.

To be honest if I was him or the board I would do the same, and you can't really blame him for that.

Lets see how much the Malaysians really want it ??????
